In lots of old conformation photos of dogs, they would brush out the lead and sometimes even the handler alltogether. Some were glaringly obvious.

The Ralph Lauren ad (http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/farid/re...alphlauren.jpg) is just plain creepy. I can't believe that even made it past the editor.
