A Nova Scotia senator was kicked out of the Conservative caucus Tuesday over his decision to attend a dinner hosted by Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Sen. Stephen Greene said he was given an ultimatum by Larry Smith, the Conservative leader in the Senate: abandon plans to attend the dinner later Tuesday or be dropped from the Tory caucus. Smith used the words “betrayal” and “treasonous” to describe his intention to break bread with Trudeau, said Greene, who described the situation as “beyond silly.” http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...ticle35008770/ Lest we Canadians get too complacent while watching what is going on in the US we get reminded now and then that we've got fools in our government too. Help me out fellow Canadians - am I remembering a golden time that never existed or has politics on the hill always been so acrimonious? Not accepting a dinner invitation from the PM because you're a member of the opposition? Seriously? |

Maybe Trudeau could get rid of all Tory MPs and Senators by sneaking up on them and offering them a Mentos? If they accept, they'll have to go...
