United States Frelinghuysen Targets Activist in Letter to Her Employer

Frelinghuysen Targets Activist in Letter to Her Employer

Quote:
The most powerful congressman in New Jersey, Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, wrote a fundraising letter in March to a board member of a local bank, warning him that a member of an activist group opposing the Republican worked at his bank.

The employee was questioned and criticized for her involvement in NJ 11th for Change, a group that formed after the election of Donald Trump and has been pressuring Frelinghuysen to meet with constituents in his district and oppose the Trump agenda.
She resigned.

This might backfire (and certainly deserves to.)

From a different article:

Quote:
the 11th District has been so solidly and reliably Republican that in 2000, the liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore tried to run a ficus plant against him to showcase the lack of competitiveness in the district.

Covering parts of Morris, Essex, Sussex and Passaic counties, the 11th is now rated by the Cook Political Report as "likely" Republican, which means while it is not considered competitive, it has "the potential to become engaged."
Maybe Avelenda ought to run for the office.

Due to a "quirk" of the boundary lines, I actually vote in the 7th district, even though most of my NJ colleagues are in the 11th. And many of them are in NJ 11th for Change. If they have any say in it, which they certainly do, maybe, finally, Frelinghuysen will lose.

Of course 7th district has it own problem.
