Default Trump says he won't attend White House Correspondents Dinner

President Trump will not attend this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner, he announced on twitter Saturday.

"Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!" the commander-in-chief added.

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the roast?

Hope they roast him anyway.

Only thing to do is to get Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, and pretty much every fake news comedian out there and book 'em. Make sure they never let up on Trump. And yes, there should be tons of jokes about his tiny hands and even tinier...well you kind of know where I'm going with this. Never stop pissing off Trump!

Someone on another forum suggested roasting/honoring Hillary instead. She did win the popular vote, after all. I find the idea rather delicious, especially if they did it straightfaced, without explanation or mention of Trump.

Esprise Me, that's great! Not mentioning him at all would make him even more furious.

The proposal I've heard that I like is that they get Alec Baldwn to attend in his Trump character and -- this is the part I really like -- when it's time for him to speak, he makes a speech composed entirely of actual Trump quotes.

I'd like either of those. I'm glad the twit isn't going. He has no sense of humor and I doubt he could tell a decent joke if his life depended on it.

He's the epitome of "can dish it out but can't take it." I can only imagine he was the kid on the playground kicking other kids in the shins over and over and then crying to mommy because one of them kicked him back.

To be honest, he probably paid other kids to do the kicking for him.

Default Trump snubs — then trolls — White House Correspondents’ Dinner

U.S. President Donald Trump began a campaign-style rally in Pennsylvania by pointing out that he was not attending that night's White House Correspondents' Association dinner and issuing a scathing attack on the news media.

Doubtful. More likely, promised to pay them a certain reasonable amount but, as soon as the kicking was done, started negotiating to reluctantly pay a small percentage of that promise.

Are you kidding? He probably extorted money from them in exchange for not turning them in after the deed was done. Assault is a serious crime, after all.

I wouldn't put it past but I was going from what's actually been made public of the hundreds of lawsuits against his companies, not just piling on.

I agree with this and all the subsequent comments. Actually kicking other peoples' shins would demand more work ethic/commitment than Trump is willing to muster.

It would have been funnier if the organiser announced that nobody had remembered to invite Trump. It's seems petty to publicly decline to attend an event to which you weren't invited.
