Default “Is Australia Sexist?” Documentary reveals gender divide.

The answer is, unsurprisingly, “yes”.

Like most women, Stynes has experienced sexism and sexual harassment. She is catcalled when she jogs. In 2012, after she made a joke at the expense of a decorated army veteran on Ten's now defunct panel show, The Circle, she received death threats on social media. She recalls the online abuse she has received as specifically gendered, targeting her "looks, sexuality and race". So she was keen to tackle the issue of sexual abuse in the realm of online dating. In the program, shortly after uploading a fake profile, with a photograph omitting her face, Stynes, an internet dating novice, receives a barrage of sexually explicit pick-up lines. She then arranges a date to confront one such suitor to find out whether he is just as comfortable communicating thus to her face.
The line was “I want you to sit on my face so I can eat my way to your heart”.
