Icon108 Andy Rooney on VA hospitals

Comment: With all of the attention given to VA medical care being greatly
lacking, a quote was attributed to Andy Rooney from a "60 Minutes" segment
more than 2 decades ago to wit "VA hospitals are just another way veterans
can give their lives for their country." True of not?

snopes, where did you get this alleged quotation from?

Using the search phrase "just another way veterans" I get nothing when trying:

google.com
groups.google.com
news.google.com/archivesearch
blogsearch.google.com
metacrawler.com
dogpile.com
technorati.com

I'm almost ready to suspect that the very existence of this UL is a UL

This is from page two of my google search. My parameters were "andy rooney veterans" (no quotes). Check out item two on the list. The search results quote an earlier version of the linked article.

Still wandering through the tubes of the internets.

What is?

To make this 10 characters, I'll say "Hey, you forgot the link!".

ETA: Using Paradiddle's parameters, the second google hit is this thread.

Er, I guess I don't understand. To me it appears that you're pointing to Rep. Frelinghuysen's tribute to the Greatest Generation, which certainly mentions Andy Rooney and veterans (and Rooney's thoughts on the sacrifice of those who died on D-Day) and the importance of maintaining "a sustainable veterans program," but I'm not seeing where Rooney (or Frelinghuysen, for that matter) gripes about VA hospitals. So, what am I not getting?

On the Google search results page, it quotes one of the first few sentences of Rep. Frelinghuysen's article. That quote includes the Rooney quote which is possibly why the article showed up in the results. Rep. Frelinghuysen has likely edited his article to correct an improperly attributed quote.

I was indicating that this is what I had located so far.

{ETA}
Looks like the Google results page has since caught up to reality. Carry on with your normal internetting.
