Judge Supreme Court Rejects Gay Marriage Appeals From 5 States

he Supreme Court turned away appeals from five states seeking to prohibit same-sex marriages, paving the way for an immediate expansion of gay and lesbian unions.

The justices did not comment in rejecting appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. No other state cases were currently pending with the high court, but the justices stopped short of resolving for now the question of same-sex marriage nationwide.

I wish the Supreme Court would just enter a ruling so we'd have gay marriage across the board. Then again, we'd have to deal with the opinions of a dinosaur like Scalia who will rule against it because the founding fathers didn't have gay marriage, so why should we. I keep wanting to shake Constitutionalists like him and shout, "Founding fathers also didn't have cars and penicillin. Plus, they owned slaves." I don't think we need to follow them that slavishly.

The Ninth Circuit just ruled on cases from Nevada and Idaho. Presumably there is no chance of the Supreme Court taking an appeal on this one either. Alaska, Arizona and Montana will also potentially be affected.

I can't wait for someone at work or in the letter to the editors column to somehow blame this on Obamacare.

And apparently the Ninth Circuit has issued the mandate very quickly, so Las Vegas will be issuing licenses this afternoon. Tacky Elvis gay weddings in 3... 2...

Here at the hotel at least professionally (dunno about personally though our wedding co-ordinator is gay) sales is hoping it becomes legalized. More weddings to book.
