Also, Guerrillero is a disambiguation page so the only wiki links that should go to it are those from the disambiguated articles. Neither of them do though!

Blimey - you seem to hit dead ends on this one whether you go through Cuban newspapers and Pinar del Rio, or whether you try to get to guerrilla warfare. None of the most relevant pages have a link back to "guerrillero", although it's possible to find the term in text without a link. More to the point, neither page that the disambiguation page links to actually links back to it - "Guerrilla (disambiguation)" is different, and the page about the newspaper doesn't mention the ambiguity.

I reckon you have to go through "disambiguation pages", which you can reach from List of corporations in Poznań->Poznań->Poznań Disambiguation. But I've clicked "Next 200" ten times already, and am still only in acronyms beginning with "A". I'm sure "Guerrillero (disambiguation)" will turn up eventually but I've not the patience...

Anybody got an alternative route, or is that it?

I was doing exactly that as you posted:

List of corporations in Poznań
Poznań
Poznan (disambiguation)
Category: Disambiguation pages
"show" for advanced search options
Gu
Guerrillero

ETA: Next one: Putt (surname) -> Ndiass

That one was going OK until I got to M'Bour, the region of Senegal that contains Ndiass, and found there was no link to Ndiass... You can't even go through "Cities, towns and villages in Senegal" because it's not listed there either.

One thing about this game is that it's really made me want to become a Wikipedia editor and fill in the obvious gaps in the links. But that would be cheating! (And it's not necessarily easy to do, any more. I've not tried.)

(eta) OK, I did just try, but the code necessary to list the Ndiass page in the "Cities, towns and villages in Senegal" category is apparently already there. Can we just wait until the indexing software has actually noticed and regenerated the page? Bloody stupid game. Who thought of this, anyway?

I've just found this: Wikipedia: Dead-end pages
Sorry, it does contain Ndiass

Maybe it should be the responisibility of the poster to check whether the target page is on there prior to setting the challenge?

Another go:
Putt (surname) -> Vitória da Conquista

I just cheated properly and edited the Thičs Region page to include Ndiass as a settlement under M'Bour. (That seemed the best and most straightforward place to put the link).

Unfortunately, by doing so, I've completely destroyed the game. Oh well... at least it finally made me edit Wikipedia, even though (as I've often thought) doing that also completely destroys my confidence in Wikipedia.

(eta) Ah, good new rule, stalker. I didn't know there was a "dead ends" page. We also therefore need a rule that you're not allowed to edit pages just to make a better route...

(eta again) I undid my change because I have no idea which of those administrative categories Ndiass comes into, if any. I'd just picked the first I saw, not realising there were others, and not realising I might have been being misleading. Oh well. The fact that any old ignorant drunkard can edit Wikipedia according to vested interests does illustrate its weaknesses, though. I suppose it just runs on trust, in that most people are supposed to be more trustworthy than me.

That's one way to play the game.

The dead ends page seem to be a bit weird anyway. It claims that it's pages that don't link internally. Not pages that don't have links to them.
Every other page in the list that I've checked seems like that. Ndiass is the only one that I've found that has internal links from it but doesn't (didn't) look like it has any to it.

Sorry about that. I did what others did - let Wiki pick two pages.

I thought I'd have a beer on the way - it seemed a convenient route:

Boston Tea Party
Samuel Adams
Boston Beer Company
Beer
Yeast (Linked as Brewer's Yeast)
Microorganism
Protist
Apicomplexa

This game seemed kind of fun - was the last one too hard or did no one care? Anyway, it can be done with:

Sea Palling
United Kingdom
Symbols of the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
Crow
Corvidae
Bird Families
Sparrow
Sind Sparrow

Probably could have been shorter, but it worked.

Woo hoo! Is that a hole in one?

The Thaw (novelette) to Clepsis senecionana. I wonder what percentage of Wikipedia pages are the Latin names of obscure insects?

This past Friday was particularly slow at work so we played this.

We'd take 2 random pages and see who could get to the other's page in the shortest amount of clicks.

It was interesting, it could take 6 clicks to go one way, but 10 to go the other.

Bah, I accidentally started at the wrong end, and (although it was much longer than four) had quite a good one that went through prostitution, estate agents and Harry Potter. I was seeing if I could shorten it by getting rid of Rupert Grint when I realised I was supposed to have started with Don LaFontaine.

It's taking longer than I thought to find four steps though...

(eta) I've got five, if you don't count first and last:

Don LaFontaine
NPR
University of Missouri
Basketball
National Basketball Association
Los Angeles Lakers
James Worthy

If that will do, then Andre Petim to Civic engagement.
