Default Doctor Who

BBC America is running a Doctor Who marathon from now until the new Doctor Who airs on October 7. There seem to be a few Torchwood's thrown in for good measure.

I agree. My parents pay for my internet access and we share our allowed download. They are grey nomads and depend on their internet for all their business. I have stuff I do. Looking for work*. Letting the government know about this etc. get the dole. We were going overtime. I think Dad has increase our amount but I still try to limit it to essentials only. Well essentials and Snopes. I have relatives overseas. I am also trying to re-establish some social contacts.

I find enough to watch on free to air TV. This weekend I will be going to the bimonthly meeting of the Dr Who fan club. That will do me till the new season starts.

*That's another story.

I'm excited the new companions are all going to be from Sheffield! (DH and I lived there for a year and he and his parents lived just outside the city his whole life.) Just as long as they aren't Sheffield Wednesday supporters...

October 11th, 22.25 CET in France. Yup, we're getting it four days after the British premiere.

It's actually not on Netflix in the US anymore. A few years ago it left Netflix and moved to Amazon Video, which was actually one of the things that made me finally sign up for Amazon Prime.

Sorry about that. We seem to be getting simultaneously with most of the world.

Is that due to the leak of Capaldi's first episode?

More likely due to the fact that the channel that airs it (France 4) is on the chopping block and will probably cease to exist next year. We'll get the episodes in the original version with subtitles because there'zs not enough time to do a french dub. Oh, and BTW, Peter Capaldi's first episode didn't air at all in France, due to some regulations which gave it the classification of a movie, which can't air on saturdays evenings. No, didn't understand that one either.

So now that people have seen it, what did you guys think?

I liked it, even if the baddie was a kinda disgusting makeup job.

Disgusting as in poorly done, or disgusting as in the results turned your stomach?

I spent Thanksgiving at my non-Space channel consumers in-laws so I still haven't seen it. I have PVR-ed the show though.

We will wait to we have all seen it before we really discuss it obviously and I will have to watch it again to really process it.

But I enjoyed it and I think she will be great and lots of fun.

I like that Tim Shaw was or Shim Shaw was kinda disgusting looking. Did you all get the long list of guest stars at the end. I am really looking forward to this season.

But where is the TARDAS and what will happen next....

I had to DVR it. When I watched that, in the commentary at the end, they said "Stayed tuned for the enhanced show with extra scenes coming on next." I hope I recorded that with a later showing but I haven't had time to verify.

And yes, I liked it.

If it like here it is most likely just the list of guest stars. I have been goggling them. Most aren't huge well I couldn't place them but there a couple that are quite big.

With have a show here called "Whovians" that comes on after and they discuss the show. They said that there was rumour that it was going to be one big season long story rather then single episode long stories. Now they are wondering if there is going single episode long story with a cliff hanger at the end of each.
