There's a duck farm about 20 miles West; I'll get back to you on it.

Some Republican is indulging in some wishful thinking.

I can't imagine a president that worried about his image. Or acting like such a child about it. "Oh..... 63% of the country doesn't like me. Well I don't like THEM! I quit!"

I read an email caught in our mail filter the other day that said that fruit cures cancer. Provided you only ever eat fruit on an empty stomach, not with other foods, you will never get sick and 80% of cancer sufferers can be totally cured!

Must be a massive oncologist conspiracy covering this up, I reckon.

Using the UK more common meaning of fruit as a mad person, I was more thinking of this.

That would be cannibalism. It's frowned upon.

I was thinking more of his claims that touching the red dot on the TV screen for two minutes would cure you of smoking/drinking/overeating or gawd knows what. So why not put cancer on the list?

Should you only push the button on an empty stomach?

Personally I'd only ever watch Uri Geller on an empty stomach, to prevent retching.

I smoke, I drink, but I do eat in moderation. I must not have had my hand on exactly the right part of the screen.

Except I didn't do that, I just sat through his BS waiting for the morning news and the weather.

Uri Geller
If ever there were an Israeli who should do jail time for fraud....

It always bugs me that his name, depending on the context, can mean "enlightenment," or "clear-thinking." Of course, it could also mean "my avatar," eg, on Facebook, or a stop sign, depending on the context.

I saw one of those shows in junior high school. The host, who was joined by Geller, but Geller wasn't the primary host, invited viewers to get all their broken clocks, and bring them to the TV, and concentrate on them when the host told them to, and they could psychically repair them.

I thought clocks was a really weird, random thing to choose, then, years later it dawned on me that most clocks (back then) had a lot of gear works, even if they were electric, and of all appliances, had a fair chance of some jam getting unstuck just by the thing being handled and carried around.
