Comment: I was inquiring about employment opportunities with snopes. I
would be interested in assisting in researching information. Please let me
know what the requirements are to do this. Thanks.

Computer Personnel problems

Comment: Where are you located? If you are local, I might be interested in
an interview. I'm a software engineer with 13 years of experience
including mainframe, client-server, and web development. I love
maintaining existing products as well as coming up with new ideas (such as
improvements on the GUI). I am located on the east coast - specifically,
Virginia.

Ponder

Comment: i just want to tell you all to keep up the great work you're
doing on your website. How ingenious! Even though i know you seem to put
much research and effort, it's so vast that one could ponder where does
Snopes go, you know? In any event, yours is a team that i'd love to be a
part of. What are employment requirements, or do you hire help? Please let
me know - thanks.

The words "Location: California" top right are a subtle hint.

Genito-urinary infections need no improvements, they are nasty enough as they are.

As is the absence of an "Employment Opportunities" link.

No, he hires monkeys to do it. He always ends up having to do the work himself, but it's always fun to have a bunch of monkeys around.

Are you kidding? Not only do monkeys create quite the mess (since they cannot be housebroken) but they insist on typing the responses to all of the e-mails that Snopes receives. Since Snopes cannot afford the million or so typewriters and monkeys required to produce a reasonable response within a short period of time (i.e., less than a few hundred years), the time required to both clean up after the monkeys and to edit and correct their responses is far longer than it would take him without the extra "help"!

You've obviously never read Snopes & Barbara's many posts about their kitteh fosters -- they obviously have all the "help" they can manage without the monkeys!

Cool! Where can I get a Snopes uniform? I would hope it looks like a superhero outfit.

"Tune in next time folks, to see if Snopes can stop 'You are my Sunshine' before The Glurge Goblin strikes again!"

Comment: I am interested in finding out about career opportunities. I am
excellent at doing research on the Internet. I am the person in my
community that everyone calls if they need any research or information on
a specific subject. I love finding the answers to problems via the
Internet.

I am taking a break from the corporate world. I was burned out on the
travel and bureaucracy that had taken hold of my once innovative and
resourceful company.

I think it would be such fun to investigate rumors and reveal the rumor
origin.

Do you hire people to do that type of work?

Comment: My name is Dave XXXXXXXXX, and I was just wondering what sort
of qualifications one would need in order to obtain a position at
Snopes.com. I was looking up a forward on your site, and just thought how
interesting it would be to research a topic's validity on an extremely
wide range of subjects. If you have some time, I'd appreciate some more
information. Thank you.

Comment: Your website is truly interesting to me. I am a stay at home mother of
three, and before I entered the insanity of motherhood I was a private
investigator in XXXXXXX, Florida. I love investigative work and researching
things of the curious nature. My question is this, do you hire outside
individuals to research and report on stories that come to you? I would
love to work for you in some capacity. Thank you for your time and in the
off chance that someone of importance is actually reading this, I hope to
hear from you soon.
