He should have been around for so many more years, entertaining us and making us smile. I'm going to miss you, Mr. Williams. I hope you have found peace.

I've been hearing apparent suicide. He entertained me through so many movies in my childhood. Jumanji!

Whatever happened, I hope it wasn't suicide.
(I know he recently went back into rehab)

So sad to hear this. He's one of those people that I just expected to be around forever.

I thought I was the only one out there who liked Jumanji!

I've been sitting here thinking about all the movies I loved that starred Robin Williams. There are far too many to list here . RIP Mr Williams.

Saddened to hear of this. He was in our state about a month ago reconnecting with Hazeldon.

RIP Robin. We'll miss you.

Words fail me, or rather words that could be uttered in this forum fail me. I read in one article was fighting severe depression.

Like others when I saw the title my first thought was that it was a hoax given how common celebrity death hoaxes have become recently. Since it's apparently not, I'm just speechless.

He was one of those rare actors who could be either funny or serious equally well. It's so sad that someone who brought laughter to so many couldn't find happiness himself.

I just got home and saw this, and my first thought was also "hoax". Since it's true, I don't have any words.

So sorry to read this. Years ago I was in an audience treated to rough cut footage from Aladdin that included alternate takes of animation from the Cave of Wonders sequence, many of them just storyboards, others pencil-tests. People were weeping with laughter. One of the presenters, an animator, said "You can't direct Robin Williams; you can only turn him loose." Hate to see him go. May he rest in peace.

Toward the end of the first season that Mork & Mindy was on the air, there was a short-lived rumor that he'd died, so this to me is almost like finding out that Paul McCartney is dead. (HE'S NOT! I'm just saying ...)

The funny thing is that they're so varied that I don't even associate them with one another.

There's a page on TV Tropes called "Groucho says something funny." They'd write a scene and just let him do whatever he came up with. They did the same thing writing scripts for M&M.

I can't remember being this close to tears for a celebrity death before.

I've never put much stock in the phrase "a part of my childhood just died," but it seems apt right now.
