Depends on the value, GenYus234. If you're selling something very valuable (I can't give you a number, sorry), the purchaser is still supposed to pay use tax on it, even if they got it one off from a private person.

That's not the case for any registered item (boat, truck, car, etc).

eBay is a facilitator in this case... Not sure how that all applies.

Those are both use taxes which are the responsibility of the buyer, I was only addressing if eBay or eBay sellers would be required to collect sales taxes.

ETA: To sum up what I was trying to say: Sales tax rules shouldn't change for private sellers or people buying from private sellers on eBay. The sellers still won't have to collect sales taxes and if the buyers are required to pay a use tax, they are probably already supposed to pay a use tax now. Commerical sellers will probably may have to start collecting sales tax on appropriate items.
