Last night I saw a pair of strikingly colored performance cars pull into the same parking lot. First was a copper and black Nissan GTR. A little while later, a purple BMW M3 also pulled in.

At lunchtime I saw a Ferrari of a kind I don't see as often. It was a silver Ferrari 550 from the late '90s, I think, or possibly a 575 (similar but a later variant). I tend to think the '90s range of Ferraris are a bit dull looking, but it's a model I don't see a lot at least.

I saw a Toyota Corolla that was old enough to have a collector's plate. Given where I saw it, I may have seen it and mentioned it before. At any rate, it didn't look to me that it was in the kind of condition you expect collector's cars to be in--neither pristine, nor clearly being worked on. This makes me wonder if my 20 year old truck will be eligible for collector's plates next time they're renewed (the plates are renewed every 13 years).

Cleaning out my car last Friday when what to my taking-a-break-eyes did appear a pickup truck with the fanciest wrought iron fencing(?) around its bed. All curlicues and fluer-de-les like decorations. Nice.

On my way home from my sister's on Sunday, I saw a Honda Acty. It didn't look very new, and I think I may have seen it before and just not recognized it for what it was.

Saw a white 2008ish Saab 9-3 convertible today while on my way to work. Saabs are becoming very rare up here.

Last night I saw one of those butt-ugly early 80s two-tone Cadillac Sevilles with collectors plates. It's one of the few cars I remember thinking was ugly when it was brand new.

Tonight on my way home I saw a 1980s Fleetwood Bounder RV. The significance is that was the exact same model of RV used in the first couple of seasons of Breaking Bad. Ever since I watched that show every time I see an older RV like that I think "meth lab".

I saw another Acty on my commute home last night. Well, I assume this one was also an Acty--it was missing its Honda logo, but otherwise looked the same.

I hit the Mini gold mine yesterday.

Lately I've noticed that some guys have been hanging around and parking at the old garage near my house. It's waiting for planning and permits and such to be turned into apartments.

Yesterday, I saw a rusty hunk of metal in the shape of a pickup truck, although the proportions were odd. So I crossed the street to ask what it was. It was (and someday will be again) a Mini Pickup (1966, maybe?).

The guys invited me into their garage to see the cars. Inside were two beautiful, shiny original Minis (one of which has not been restored, it's been beautifully maintained), a 1962 Cooper (in pretty rough shape), and a 1960 Mini Van. There was also a small Italian car, although I don't remember what it was, as well as a Mini being restored.

They invited me to stop by any time the gates are open, and gave Ferdinand a treat, too.

A sports car painted in rose gold. That color is gorgeous on a car.
