Glasses

I'm going to have to go find some of that, even though it's way, way off my diet. Thanks, Tabby.

I found a former work buddy on LinkedIn and he emailed me. After telling me he's missed me and asking me about my life (it's been almost 12 years), he provided me with a numbered list of things that remind him of me, including "hummus" and "other cute redheaded chicks."

Drove past a house where a woman was watering her flower beds and her Boston Terrier was jumping around trying to bite all the water as it came out of the hose.

I walked past the student mailboxes today at school and saw that they'd changed the banner over our clases' boxes from "1st Year DVM" to "2nd Year DVM".

I just made the perfect cup of tea. The right strength, right temperature, right taste. Bliss.

Not only is it raining, I'm hearing occasional thunder in the distance. Thunderstorms are rare in California, and are one of those things I miss from back east.

I found the most perfect little black dress today. I'd been looking for one, and the price and style were unbeatable. The skirt is just short enough to be flirty but I could make it a semi-formal dress if I ever had to. It's just a great casual dress to accessorize with colorful beads, belts, and socks or tights. The only drawback is that the built-in belt loops aren't large enough to accommodate the belts I wanted to wear with it. But I'm happy.

I missed those when I lived in CA, too. You are lucky. I never got one in the 2+ years I was there.

The sounds coming out of my guitar are almost sorta vaguely starting to resemble something that might possibly be mistaken for something that kinda sounds like music.

So my one of my two new minions missed a meeting this morning. It turns out it was a total miscommunication. But she sent me a very apologetic email nonetheless.

What makes me happy is 1. Minions! and 2. At least one of them with an overdeveloped sense of responsibility which means my main job with her is to be all supportive and help her learn to chill out. That I can do. I know ya'll don't believe it, but I hate being the bad guy.

A few months after I moved to Seattle I mentioned that I missed thunderstorms and was told "We have thunderstorms here. We just had one a year ago last Thanksgiving."

LTTMMH: I used glass cleaner to clean my glasses this morning, don't worry, the lenses are glass, and the tune from the Windex commercial came to mind. I felt a brief twinge of regret because I had liked that song before it became a commercial. So, I pulled it up on youtube and sang along with it. It really brightened my day. Of course, now I have an earworm, but I'm ok with that.

Gonna be a bright, bright, sun shiney day...

My friend who lives about 45-60 mins from Seattle gets mad at me every time I mention the kick-ass storm that's going on here. She grew up in Virginia and says she misses the big ole booming thunderstorms. Washington's she says tend to be quite.. weak.
