Icon18 The original TV Batmobile hits the auction block

With atomic batteries to power and turbines to speed, the original Batmobile is ready to rev up the auction block.

I sat in that!
A friend of my father's had something to do with custom cars (NSRA) in Detroit and brought the car to Hamilton for a show. I was fairly young, under 10, and thought it was the coolest thing. My father even has a couple of pictures somewhere of both my brother & I sitting in the driver's seat.
Good times.

WOW! Never thought George would let that thing go.

I've seen it up close, and it's definitely a 20 footer.

I shared that article, along with a message, "Don't tell my wife what she's getting!"

I said to her, "How cool would it be to tell you your present's outside, and blindfold you, and when you take it off, there's the Batmobile, with flames still coming out of the back! Well, except for everything behind it being reduced to ashes."
