Comment: The story you have for the marathon amputee that reportedly he lost his legs in Iraq is false information. I was under the assumption that you were a reliable source until now. I am an employee for Costco and apparently they are taking donations for him because he is an employee !!!! Please check your facts !!!! He is an employee in the New Hampshire wharhouse and YES he lost his legs at the MARATHON !!! You should be ashamed of yourselves !!! |

Comment: I suspect (if this article from earlier THIS year) that the snopes entry related to it needs some updating: http://www.africanglobe.net/headline...n-dollar-case/ |

Comment: This story is actually true not false as claimed here on snopes. It's even documented by TIME magazine. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...000445,00.html http://www.bradenton.com/2011/09/25/...ter-shark.html There are more articles by major news sources and interviews by the family on the internet, confirming the story and the attack |

Comment: In your story "Blood Hounded" about the child contracting HIV through pineapple, you state that HIV can be contracted through saliva and tears. This is not true. There may be a small amount of HIV present in saliva but it's of no clinical significance. In addition, HIV cannot survive in fluids like tears or sweat. |

Comment: your site says that the rumor that visine/murine causes diarrhea is false, but then goes on to list all of the horrible things that can happen to a person if they are given visine drops in their food or drink. If it is true that the effects are terrible, why does snopes list this rumor as "false?" Also, I have first hand knowledge of this being true. I have worked as a bartender and waitress for a good deal of my adult life and I have seen it happen. Many waiters/waitresses carried bottles with them in the aprons, since waitressing was so frustrating and they would use it when they felt insulted or annoyed. They thought it was hilarious. What's more, it has happened to me personally. The only reason that I knew that this sudden onset of projectile vomiting was from visine was because the other employees thought it was so funny that they couldn't keep the "secret" and the person responsible bragged about it. I have never done it, but I have had it done to me a number of times and I have suspected other times. One time recently I was at Red Robin and sent my food back because it was wrong. Four hours later I was on the floor with projectile vomiting and blood pressure issues. I was ready to go to the ER but decided to give it a few more hours. The pain was excruciating. I am going to find out if there is a test for this. Snopes needs to rethink the "false" that they write about this 'rumor.' |

Comment: Concerning the article about Jane Fonda passing information about
Vietnam Veterans interned as Prisoners of War in the "Hanoi Hilton" being reported by you as FALSE. I am not sure who you have spoken to about this. Perhaps you only mean a few specific names from an email. If that is so, then perhaps it is not true. However, according to actual Veterans of the Vietnam war she had passed the names of every American who passed her a message. I believe that the way you have this article currently setup gives it an incorrect skew towards her being innocent of committing treason during her time there. This is a slap in the face to anyone who has ever served in the military. Please re-look into this, though I would not use her own book as a reference. It may look as if you would prefer to take her at her word as opposed to the Veterans she stabbed in the back. http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp |
