Hawaii's two Democratic senators fired back at Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday for saying that a federal judge who blocked President Donald Trump's immigration order hailed from "an island in the Pacific."

Hey Sessions. You work for a man who comes from a island in the Atlantic (sort of).

ETA: Depending on how you define waterways and locations. Trump was born in Queens and much of Long Island's coastline is the Atlantic. Or he lived on Manhattan, which is an island of mostly river coastline.

Hawaii has always been a very pivotal role in the Pacific. It is in the Pacific. It is a part of the United States that is an island that is right here.

From the article posted:

Quote:
"I really am amazed that a judge sitting on an island in the Pacific can issue an order that stops the President of the United States from what appears to be clearly his statutory and Constitutional power," Sessions said
Wait a minute. The Attorney General of the United States is amazed to find out how the judiciary system of the United States works?

Out of office and back to school, Sessions! Isn't that about middle school level?

-- and, oh, yeah, Hawaii's been fully part of the USA since before I was in middle school. Which is quite a ways back, now.

Is it any more amazing that one guy sitting in a swamp in the mid-Atlantic can say who can fly into the U.S.? Or that one lawyer from a tornado-ridden state that we had to send the army into to let kids go to school gets to decide what is right?

Anyway, eight and a half short years ago, those of us on the right were cheering on the pitbull who was busting on the "lower 48," donthca know. So which is it?

To tl: But you look like it was about 30 years ago.

No, I don't, actually.

And you know what? I'm OK with that. Though I do wish I could do as much work in a day as I could when I was 38.

Well according to the Supreme Court, Long Island (even though it is surrounded by water) isn't an island. It's part of the mainland.

So that argument is out.

And Hawaii's not an island, but an archipelago, so here's a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head.

PS. There is an island named Hawaii, but the District Court is on the island of Oahu.

I'm guessing they're figuring Hawaii can't be part of the United States since Barack Obama was born there.

(I just remember the old Scrabble player's conundrum: "If Hawaii is a state, how can 'Aloha' be a foreign word?")

Not many people knew that until now. How could they have known?

Anybody else besides me tempted to write a parody about Sessions to the tune of "Gilligan's Isle"?

See I was wondering if it is therefore actually part of Kenya.

I have to ask, why does the bunny have a pancake on it's head?

It's pretty sad when you realize these guys would be totally schooled by Dan Quayle, isn't it?

It was one of those weird internet things a few years ago -- people put pancakes on their bunnies, or their cats, and took pictures. I imagine it started with someone doing it on a whim and uploading a pic.

Nobody knew how complicated geography is. 48 states - plus the one Sarah Palin is from, the Canadian one. That's a lot to remember. The media never focuses on them, the ones he got right. So negative.

This explains the pancake bunny meme.

Roll eyes "Nobody has a sense of humor anymore," Jeff Sessions says

Attorney General Jeff Sessions says “nobody has a sense of humor anymore.”

That’s his assessment after drawing ire for seeming to dismiss the state of Hawaii as merely “an island in the Pacific.”

Oh, that was a joke. Even though you meant everything you said in the rest of the sentence. Okay.

Ha ha, that offensive thing I just said was just a joke. So you can't be mad at me fore it. Stop being so uptight. Ha ha.
