Huh?? What's this got to do with that? This is a situation where the person holding the rally incited people to act against specific members of the crowd. I don't agree that this man should not be held accountable but so should people who stand in front of a crowd and incite that violence. Nothing to do with excuses about devils.

If you believe in the devil I suppose it would make logical sense. Nothing else does right now.

The devil's biggest trick is making you think he doesn't exist. Trump's biggest trick is eating the most delicious chocolate cake ever.

Trump isn't the devil. Remember, the devil is a man of wealth and taste.

That particular iteration of the devil has always struck me as surprisingly honest.

Well, then - Trump has nothing in common with THAT, right?

BTW, it struck me today that this guy's defense amounts to "I was just following orders." That's always a good defense.

Actually the response to the lawsuit strengthens the original lawsuit by saying that the alleged assault wouldn't have happened without the direction of Trump.

Default Trump claims immunity as President in lawsuit

President Donald Trump is claiming he cannot be sued now that he has won the White House -- a defense in a lawsuit that alleges Trump incited rally-goers to violence when they allegedly assaulted protesters during the 2016 campaign.

That defense didn't work for Clinton. The Supreme Court didn't think it would be such a big deal for him to defend a civil suit. We see how that worked out. As much as I hate to say it, I actually agree that civil suits against the president personally should be put on hold until the president leaves office.

I disagree with events that happened before he was president. Its too easy depending on the event in question to have these things fall off the radar or to have defenders of the president harass accusers to drop the case. These days its real easy to find out things about accusers and engage in harassment. That happened to one of the accusers in the sexual harassment accusation - she was threatened by Trump supporters until she dropped the case. Forcing people to wait for justice only is going to make the likelihood of harassment that much more likely.
