I wonder if the kids were doing anything to modify the use of the e-cigarette that was part or intended in use by the manufacture.

According to this article, he and his dad say they didn't tamper with it.

This past Monday, I made an e-juice run for DH and the cashier mentioned that the e-cig probably had lithium batteries. Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't let medal touch them.

Maybe that's why you are supposed to wear them on your sleeve, so they don't accidentally touch your e-cig?

TV report of an e-cig blowing up here also a few weeks ago. And yes, it is probably the lithium ion battery.

Not that you are wrong. But since I know nothing about e-cigarettes and we know how truthful kids and parents can be when it comes to things like injures. I think that I will wait until I read a third party review of how and why the e-cigarette damaged the kid, before I will lean one way or the other. So I will wait and see and keep my mind open.

Well, maybe if he hadn't said it exploded, he never would have been injured.

I had one blow up while I was charging it because I used the wrong damn charger. Got hot. Blew up. The screw in kind, I don't much trust, but the type that use a micro usb are kind of hard to screw up.

Exactly. That's why I said "he and his dad say..."
