Sorry to hear of it.

My late mom LOVED that show. It was one of her favorites.

I also remember him as Count Iblis, from some of the weirder episodes of the original Battlestar Galactica.

To continue the semi-hijack, I never understood those episodes. Was he the devil or not?

He was an evil Seraph, the weird "creatures of light" that were the subject of a few later episodes. That's about as far as the show ever got in explaining it.

I remember an episode of "Kung Fu: the Legend Continues" where he and Richard Vaughn (the Man from UNCLE) team up with David Carradine's character.

I loved watching the Avengers in the 60s. Not so keen on later series. He made a wonderful pairing with Diana Rigg - gentle humour with great slightly surreal storylines.

RIP.

It was mind-expanding, as a little girl in the 60s and 70s (reruns), to watch Mrs. Peel kick ass -- and no less so to see Steed treat her as a respected colleague and valued friend.

Funny, really, since I probably only saw the show to begin with because my older brothers liked the way Diana Rigg looked in her catsuit.

Well, she did. (And now she's the Queen of Thorns.)

I'd stopped watching GoT before she appeared, but I heard of the casting and thought "perfect!".

I probably wouldn't have known his name if he hadn't done a couple episodes of Columbo.

Those are some of the reasons she enjoyed the show so much. She patiently explained to me how groundbreaking this show was in the way Emma Peel was portrayed.

She hated helpless females with twisted ankles.

Hijacking this further--have you seen any of the Mrs. Bradley Mysteries? Another great female character played by Ms. Riggs.

It's all about the hats, Lainie. (that's how my SIL sold me on them).
