for what it's worth, just searched the name on facebook, his profile pic is now a man standing on top of an overturned vehicle... Hope he goes to jail, things like this should not happen. I was not proud when oilers fans lit fires on Whyte ave.

Although one thing that does bother me, is that this riot would have happened regardless of the outcome. (fewer burning jerseys i'm sure however)

There (currently) is a craigslist post about this. Not saying that it verifies veracity, but...

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...443518411.html

If it is true, then yes, his parents must be proud for raising such a fine, upstanding and intelligent young man.

Edit:

I would know nothing about that (or various, multiple and frequent mispellings, either)

There are a couple facebook groups now that are combing through various photos and videos and outing idiots who are bragging about this stuff on their profiles. Lots of screenshots, photo comparisons, and they're almost making a game of tracking people down.

As much as part of me is satisfied at seeing angry, pissed off social media at work putting names to these asshats and calling them out, I cringe at the idea of someone being falsely identified. It does give it a different dymanic, though; Riots seem to be about people acting in ways they'd never act if they weren't an anonymous face in a crowd, and in a world where almost everyone is walking around with a camera, there's no such thing as anonymous anymore.

On the identifyrioters website, nearly every photo shows multiple people taking photos of the rioters. It astounds me to think that these people apparently didn't worry about being identified.

Everything else aside, some of the "action shots" on the identifyrioters page are pretty intense... Case in point: http://www.identifyrioters.com/?photo=32

Given how slowly bigfoot seems to move, it really makes you wonder why he always turns up so blurry when you see photos like these.

Jenn: Do you know if the Identify Rioters website is having any success? What a unique & resourceful way to get information.

On the radio it was stated that a teenager was turned in by his parents when they saw their son in a photo on the site. Likewise, it was reported that six people turned themselves in after seeing their photos in the news, on the site and or flashed around the net.

At first I sort of just felt bad for the guy because I thought he was participating in a protest that at least meant something...but the Stanley Cup? Get a life!

While I can appreciate what they're trying to do, the second "pepper spray guy" doesn't seem to convincing that he's doing what's purported as well as the guys supposedly stealing the camera. There also are a few which leave me wondering what their offenses are.

The obvious ones leave me shaking my head though...

I keep wondering if they're going to find this guy. He can't be that hard to identify.

Especially since his picture's been captured more than once.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's one whose parents reported him. Y'know, 'cause they're so proud of their delightful son.

ETA: quink types faster than I do.
