DD has crushes on several anime characters. A friend of mine thought it was weird, but to me, it just seems like another way of crushing on someone attractive but non-threatening, as girls her age (14) often do.

Signora, sorry if my post seemed snarky. Just as you were baffled by the concept of finding animated characters "hot," I was baffled that someone could be baffled by that.

I may be nitpicking, but it's Captain Shang...unless you're talking about the sequel of course.

Yes! I was waiting for somebody to mention him. He's definitely the hottest animated hero Disney had!

Well, once we get over that whole "boys are icky" stage, we start to see everything, cartoon characters included, in a whole different light. I'd already had crushes on real people, both friends and celebrities, for quite some time, and then in middle school I discovered this thing called "anime" and found myself attracted to some of the characters. Now that I'm older, I find both anime characters and real people attractive, except I'll only pursue real people. And now that I look back, some of those Disney characters were pretty good-looking, especially Kocoum from Pocahontas and, agreed, Eric from The Little Mermaid. Also, that guy from Mulan...I like dark-haired guys. Aladdin's not bad, but his voice is kind of annoying IMO.

Problem is, most American cartoons these days are fugly. Although I just think that because they differ from my personal preferences.

Default Old hotness, new hotness

Lusting after cartoon characters is nothing new. Ask your Grandpa or dad if they've ever read a Tijuana Bible. Link NSFW.

Hmm... I don't think I'll ever see Popeye in the same light again.

I felt the same way after seeing a porn drawing featuring Donald & Daisy Duck...

The only cartoon character I ever had a crush on was this guy. And it was a monster crush.

Besides that, I only get crushes on characters in books. Mmmm, Mr. Rochester...

Frying Pan

Yes! Tasuki! The most macho man I can stand looking at! I can't believe I forgot about him. Oh yeah, I'm over him. But still...

As a continuation of the second male from the nameless show in my previous point, I think it's even scarier I like him from his seiyuu voice, when it's a she. (But she is the master of pants VA)

Another guy I like, and for different reasons than 95% of the fanbase (Which usually is summed up with "He's hot" and "His first dub Voice Actor Rocks!") is This Guy who also happens to be my spiffy avatar. People seem to think that he likes the only of-age girl in the show (The other is his sister) but others seem to think he loves his mom a bit too much (Last minute or 30 seconds.)

There's a couple other characters I like, but they aren't of age. The good news is that I'd never be tried if they existed and I revealed my love. If they like me, no court would want to try it because the judge and prosecuting attorneys would keep dying. If they don't, well, I'd be killed, but I wouldn't be tried for statuory rape.

And my inner fangirl is locked back into her cage and I bow out of this thread.

Darn you, Rinoa! I thought I'd gotten over my 13 y/o girl crush on Duo! But, alas, one never truly forgets one's first love...

God, this thread has brought me back. Thank you.

And so, I submit for your approval this beauty as well as this one and this one.

And now I'm fourteen again. Forget my bf, why can't I have my old hotties?!

In a bizarre twist of events, despite my incredible undying adoration of all things Sailor Moon, the only character I came close to lusting after was this one.

But Fushigi Yuugi? I was in love with practically the entire cast. (But only one qualified as a real crush.)

I don't think this is true at all. Besides being blonde, the characters look nothing alike. The drawing styles are completely different, as well.

Wow, I didn't know they made such cartoons back then, even if it was "underground".

Anyway, of course I've had cartoon crushes. What else is new? Mine usually are dweebs and nerds, like Fenton Crackshell of "Duck Tales", Carl Cryssinovics of "Johnny Bravo" and Edd a k a Double D of "Ed, Edd and Eddy".

I found it amusing that one of my professors (ironically, who teaches children's literature) has a huge book of Tijuana Bibles in her office. I told her about Rule 34.

The only times Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella look similar is on poorly-done merchandise (you know, like the dolls that look nothing like the original characters)
