Icon106 Trump to take his case to build wall to prime-time audience

Read all about it! https://wtop.com/white-house/2019/01...time-audience/

To honor this momentous occasion, I wrote a song about it. It's sung to the tune of Here Comes Santa Claus. Enjoy.

Here comes Donald Trump
Here comes Donald Trump
Right down Donald Trump Lane
Sanders, Putin and all his flunkies pulliní on the rein
Teeth are gnashing, mediaís clashing, gads what a horrible sight!
So turn off your TV and go to bed
ĎCause Donald Trumpís cominí tonight!

Here comes Donald Trump
Here comes Donald Trump
Right down Donald Trump Lane
Heís got a bag thatís filled with bricks for the wall he wants to build
Hear Pelosi crying and screaming about the horrible right
So go to bed and cover up your head
ĎCause Donald Trumpís cominí tonight!

Here comes Donald Trump
Here comes Donald Trump
Right down Donald Trump Lane
He doesnít care if youíre black or brown
ĎCause he hates you just the same
For Donald knows that we all canít stand him
And that makes everything right
So fill your heart with some jingo cheer
ĎCause Donald Trump is coming tonight---oohhhhhhhhh

Here comes Donald Trump
Here comes Donald Trump
Right down Donald Trump Lane
Heíll be around to pre-empt all your shows
Like every president does

The electionís coming up next year
Get ready for the blight
For now letís thank the GOP
ĎCause Donald Trumpís coming tonight!
So let us thank the Republicans
ĎCause Donald Trump is coming (Trump is coming)
Toniiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttt!

Yup, and I won't be watching. It is past time for TV networks to stop everything and give POTUS a free ride in prime time. Especially, this POTUS and this time.

Creative song! It works with the tune, and it's pretty funny.

But why is Pelosi "crying" and "screaming"? If it's a charicature, I haven't seen the emotional (hysterical?) behavior it's based on.

I have a lot of time to kill, and so I watch and search the news sites frequently. Other than a few press updates since negotiations began, both she and Chuck Schumer have been pretty low key.

I guess women, powerful or not, are expected to follow a certain pattern of emotional behavior.

I'm pissed because I wanted to watch the season opener of NCIS.

I wonder if thatís what will finally do in Trumpís administration. As a whole, people are a fickle, divisive bunch, but thereís one thing we all agree on: donít eff with our TV shows! Iím just sayiní even his supporters might reach their limit if he keeps preempting their shows.

I had to think of something! It just fit. Nothing against the Speaker of the House. I find her to be rather soft-spoken in her response to Dear Leader. Her name just fit that's all.

Dawn-relax Weird Al!--Storm

ETA: Mouse--Not my business how old you are, but back in the late 70s, President Carter gave a speech at 8pm instead of the usual 9pm so as not to interfere with Monday Night Football. I do believe it was a Skins-Cowboys game, which was then a serious rivalry. He mentioned it in his speech. Then there was a playoff game in the 80s that kept being interrupted by CBS' special reports on some nuclear summit between President Reagan and whoever ran the USSR (I don't think it was Gorbachev). People were not amused to put it mildly! Yes, world peace is important, but c'mon man! This is football!
Richard M--You and the talk show host I listen to have both been following Trump since the 80s. Local talk show first saw Trump on the Morton Downy Show.

E.Q., that was brilliant messaging on her part. I really think she would be better at this presidenting thing that Trump is, which is pretty sad.

But there's a reason it just seems to fit to depict the woman who is third in line for the presidency as crying and screaming over something. I'm not saying you were targeting her intentionally -- just the opposite, actually. I think it was what came to mind. But we need to be aware of those insidious memes that pop into our minds.

If it helps, I think there could be something instead about sealing the border up tight, or Trump flexing America's mighty might. . . .

OK...
Hear him screamin' hear him rantin' about how the wall is right....

So go to bed and cover up your head...

Actually I did go to bed early because I was feeling headache-y.
The upside of that is that Pearl, Steely Dan and Gobi followed me, this sparing them from Dear Leader's speech and me from an animal cruelty rap. I don't know where the other two kitties were--upstairs maybe?
