Icon18 World-wide conspiracy to block access to snopes!

Comment: Increasingly I am blocked from Snopes by Kaspersky software. Both
browsers and even via Google Desktop. Hmmm... Kaspersky is located in
Moscow,
so is Vlad PUTIN who is trying to control the media in his country.
Could it be he is crippling efforts to find the truth about rumors
circulating about him?

Comment: I live and work in Abu Dhabi, UAE, which is arguably one of the
least conservative muslim nations on the planet. However they do censor
the internet, but sometimes their censorship just baffles me.

In the most recent update newsletter that you send out the lead-in line
was, "Well, it made us laugh when we saw it — Television news coverage of
wildfire displays risqué closed captioning. "

When I clicked on the link to view it, I found that the site was blocked
with the following apology,

"We apologize the site you are attempting to visit has been blocked due to
its content being inconsistent with the religious, cultural, political and
moral values of the United Arab Emirates."

This the first time in the nearly five years I have lived in the region
that the Urban Legends page has been blocked.

Like I said: sometimes I'm baffled.
