Even though I know that corner of the top was probably peeled up by the first responders to get her out of the front, that's still a colossal amount of damage. That they had to pry the roof up shows you how badly the body was distorted by the explosion.

I'm going to send that link to my wife. She is the safety specialist for the college of Engineering at NMSU. One of the student clubs has been reprimanded more than once for storing the propane take to their grill inside. Last time it was stored inside, they hid it in the men's room thinking my wife wouldn't look THERE. She did and the bottle is now at our house stored outside. She left a note telling the students where the bottle is.

Hank Hill reaction shot on hearing of an improperly maintained propane tank (strike one) and use of an open flame IVO a propane tank (strike two). Probably not transporting the grill/tank IAW Texas Propane Commission Safety guidelines either (two and a half). What happens when he gets to three? Not even he knows.

Orlando police Lt. Cindy Lane tells news outlets that the grill was turned on and the propane tank was open in the back of the red Kia Sorento.
How do you run (aka "use") a grill in an enclosed vehicle? Or may be they meant to say that the grill's valve was turned to on but the burner was not burning.

In any case, if you must transport a propane tank in a car (never a great idea but sometimes unavoidable), at least leave all the windows down to ventilate the vehicle... and turn the valve off completely.

Brings to mind a time my dad gave a ride to someone who ran out of gas. On the way back to the guy's car with the gas can between the guy's feet, guy pulled out a pack of cigarettes and asked if my dad minded if he smoked.

When I was in high school, a guy in my hometown was looking for/fixing a gas leak in his kitchen, then apparently took a break and lit up a cigarette. Fortunately, his elderly mother was in bed, and survived the explosion without serious injury. He wasn't so lucky. I always wondered if he had time to realize what he'd done.
