This blog post from January '08 shows the woodpile from a slightly more forward angle and the blog describes itself as focusing on the Niagria/Ontario region, but gives no further information.

Yes, it's really eye-catching, and would make a great backdrop/heat catcher for a BBQ or some other arboreal soirée...
