Thanks to hearing it on iHeart Radio’s One Hit Wonders channel and posting about it on the “Things You Shouldn’t Have To Tell Your Apps” thread, now it’s Quarterflash’s “Harden My Heart.”

If any-one would like "The Monster Mash" , I'm not adverse to getting rid of it.

Thanks to the daily news cycle, I've got the first lines of R.E.M.'s "Radio Song" on constant play in my head: "The world is collapsing___ around our ears..."

"I am the entertainer
And I know just where I stand
Another serenader and another long-haired band
Today I am your champion
I may have won your hearts
But I know the game; you'll forget my name
And I won't be here in another year
If I don't stay on the charts."

My parents found a new toy for my niece over Christmas. It's a big red plastic bus with lots of buttons and letters and numbers on the side, and it plays tunes and catchphrases. A bit like the Brexit bus except that the numbers on the side are more believable, ha ha.

The bus has three destinations, and one of its features is that you can press a button on top, and it changes the destination and sings a little song about the new destination. The destinations are the zoo, the train station (as railway stations are called these days) and the school.

Unfortunately, the tune is quite catchy, and given there are only three destinations, repetitive. So for most of Christmas I had this going round in my head:

Quote:
Let's go to the zoo
Hear the trains go choo choo choo
Let's go to the zoo right now!
What's worse is that it's a mixture of two verses, because the actual verse about the station doesn't rhyme, and the actual line about the zoo is "hear the monkeys go woo woo woo", which doesn't scan. (The woman has to sing "monks" while trying to make it sound like "monkeys"). So my brain picked the catchier bits of each and combined them into something that doesn't even make sense!

Two songs thanks to my Celtic Music Pandora station; one Cornish, one Scottish. I'm not actually complaining this time, as I love 'em both! I'm sharing them, not wishing they'd go!

One of my co-workers and I were running wire on the second floor of one of our fire stations; one of the station personnel was up there playing an acoustical guitar and singing drinking songs. After a little bit of talk, I mentioned the song "Under The Scotsman's Kilt", which he didn't know. He listened to it on YouTube, then came back with "Another Irish Drinking Song". And now I can't get it out of my head.

The worst part is I don't know the words, so I have a junior jumble of lyrics going on in my head, but the song the girl dog in the doggie jail sings in Lady & the Tramp.

I've got some Allen Sherman songs if anyone wants one! This is what happens when you get an urge to hear the musical ancestor of Weird Al and go to YouTube to make that happen. I've got "Shticks and Stones and "Shticks One Way, Half a Dozen the Other" if anyone wants them.

Thanks to kitap's post here, I now have "Una Paloma Blanca" stuck in my head. Except it's the "Buh-Weet Sings" version.

Thanks to the "Strange Shows You Grew Up With" Thread, now it's the Lancelot Link theme. I don't remember it from my childhood--I was 4 when it premiered, so it would've gone over my head anyway--but I discovered it when it ran briefly on Nickelodeon.

"Danny Don't You Know," by Ninja Sex Party... NSFW for language, but damn if it isn't catchy...
