Sheep 'Lambchopophobia' sends pup into a fury

Quote:
Dear Gary:

I was telling my veterinarian about our dog (black Lab) getting all skittish when I was cooking a leg of lamb the other night.

She would not even come into the kitchen. Dr. Miller said she recalled some columns of yours mentioned a correlation between cooked lamb smells and dog behavior. Do you have that information?

Anybody else think this was going to be about the puppet?

Guilty! I thought this would be about sockpuppetry.

Me three. It made me wonder where they're playing Shari Lewis in reruns, given that she's dead.

I know "The Song That Never Ends" would send me into a fury.

Omigosh, it's true! When I was young we had a Pekingese who would hide under the bed every time my mom cooked lamb (and only when it was lamb). I'm amazed to discover she apparently wasn't unique!

I thought it was about the puppet, too.

FWIW, I've cooked lamb plenty of times without any abnormal reaction from my dog.
