Over here kisschase can go either gender equally. It was just as common when I was in school to see groups of girls chasing a red-faced, embarrassed boy around the playground than the other way around. I'm thinking that at a certain age it was even more commonly girls (the age when boys think girls are icky), but I admit I don't have anything other than a very vague feeling to go on for that one.

From my experience it was about equal.

I think part of the driving force for these panics are a parents fear of their children's pre-sexual behavior. They are uncomfortable with games like doctor or kisschase, or spin the bottle or any of these games children often play as a way to explore their beginning sexuality. And really, in a society that is also panicked by the thought of molestation or sexualization of children, they really have no tools to handle this. When you are so hung up on "sex between children and adults/older children is wrong" it is hard to see that maybe this innocent exploration between peers is not wrong. (Although for kisschase I would probably take my kid, whether they were watching or participating on either side, and have a long talk about consent, and the difference between playground games and real life, and that sort of thing.)

I gave out these "sex bracelets" or "snopes" as some call them (as someone else said NSFBK-in brilliant, GEEN-EE-YUS!!), in my Halloween goody bags!

They were on sale in the local grocery store, 100 in a bag for $1, green, orange, black & purple, Halloween colors....OR ARE THEY!?!?

I put them in the bags along with some good candy, little glow-in-the-dark Halloween rubber duckies, & some Halloween colored skeleton bookmarks.

So does that mean that now those kids are candy eatin', book reading, bath takin' sex maniacs? I am SUCH a bad grown-up.

Kiss chase IME was always boys chasing girls (I went to 3 primary schools, 1 in Bucks and 2 in Essex). If it was just kissing you got off lightly. Sometimes you got caught at the end of the school field and the boys were daring each other to touch their captive's knickers. Sometimes (the experience i had) one or other of the boys would expose himself to shock the girl. We never had girls chasing boys at any of the primary schools I went to.

We never had anything more than kissing (that was saved for after school games like doctor). To me it seemed there were several reasons that a boy would pick a particular girl, or vice versa. With boys it was usually because they liked the girl in question. Girls were less often that forward, but they would target a specific boy as retaliation for things, to humiliate and punish him. Sometimes girls would target boys they liked, but that was a little less common. Boys, on the other hand, rarely seemed to have punishment as a motive. As I said, usually it was because they liked the girl. Also, they were often prone to picking a semi-random girl if they were teased enough about it by their friends.

From what I recall, the big thing about kisschase was the chasing rather than the actual kissing.

SO used to play the Glaswegian version, which was apparently called "Kiss, Kick, or Torture."

Lovely.

Yes, but you've got to watch out for the wide-eyed woodland animals.

Guess so. But the torture was always a Chinese burn. Simply no imagination.

This was the North-East of England.

I have no idea what they are called in Quebec.

Recent graduate here. I've heard so much about these jelly bracelets that I figured I should fill everyone in on what I do know about them and what goes on.

I was in Grade 7 when the "every bit of everything" store in town started getting these in. The store was run by the town minister (this was a small town) and his wife. They wouldn't even sell Wonder Woman comics because they were "soft-core pornography". The rubber bands came in a bag of about 20 or so if I remember and the package had few details on them. Soon it became a trend in town to have as many as possible.

At first we just bought them because they came in a lot of different colors and looked cooled when you had about 100 or so on each arm (or so we thought). One day; however, we had heard this rumor from one of the older kids that they were actually "snap bracelets". We were told that when someone snaps one of your bracelets, you were supposed to do whatever that color represented. Our 'color code' was a lot different then the one on here but different strokes change the world.

So what happened when we found out their "true meaning"?? A lot of people just threw theirs out because they weren't sexual yet and didn't see a point in getting in trouble when there parents heard this rumor. There is though, a little bit of truth in this UL. While it was no where near the mayhem that it has been made out to be, some kids actually did play this game (myself included). For the most part, it would be between 'couples' who were already experimenting with sex. They would snap the band of their boyfriend or girlfriend just to signal what they wanted to do later. The single kids that did it (like myself) did it only to other kids that were already sexual, but it didn't always take off. You can't just go up to someone, break their jewelry and expect an instant handjob every time.

I won't go to far into the details but i'll answer any questions you guys have about this to clear things up
