Default Getting a new foster today

So after Dazzle and Mystique passed, I felt myself at loose ends, so I volunteered to foster again. We have a haul coming up from Oklahoma today (they left about an hour ago) who'll be here later today where I'll pick my foster up. I haven't had a 'straight off the track' greyhound in this house since 2007, when I fostered Summer (who, up until now, was my last foster.)

So be warned, O Snopesters.....photos of the Ebil Foster Greyhound will likely be coming soon.

Hide the stuffed bunnies! (Do they still use stuffed bunnies at greyhound tracks?)

And here she is.....Gabby's Dime, known to her friends as Penny:

Her history can be found here:

http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?d=ga...ar=&birthland=

Right now, she's mostly been hanging out in her crate. She doesn't seem to be hiding, just kinda, "Eh, long day, I'm just gonna nap. Hard."

She's super cute. I recently went through something a bit like you did, and the house is awfully empty with no dog. We don't think it's a great time to get another dog, but I still inquired about one on Petfinder because something about her picture really spoke to me. Probably nothing will come of it, but it's hard to not have a dog.

It's a great thing you are doing to help these dogs find forever homes. And even though no foster could ever replace the dogs that have left holes in your heart, they can keep your heart warm.

She is beautiful, and lucky to have you to teach her about being a pet.

I'm with Lainie--love the ears. Good job, Penny, holding up the Ebil Greyhound banner!

Good luck, Magdalene.

Time to get my glasses changed. I thought this thread was titled "Getting a new foster turkey," but that sure looked like a handsome greyhound. I wish you and your new friend all joy!

A "foster turkey" wouldn't last long around our house. 'Bout the third week of November,....

Semi-random question: Are the dates on the family tree the dogs' birth dates?
