United States Too Bad Rudy Doesn’t Lie as Well as Trump

Just last month, President Trump told the American people that he knew nothing about how Stormy Daniels received $130,000 in hush money. His lawyer, Michael Cohen, has insisted for months that he had kept Mr. Trump completely in the dark and that he had handled the entire matter on his own as a personal favor to the man for whom he would “take a bullet.”

Enter Rudy Giuliani. On Wednesday night, the former mayor of New York and Mr. Trump’s latest legal fixer went on Fox News — where else? — to offer a new version of the Stormy Daniels affair. The president, Mr. Giuliani insisted, had in fact reimbursed Mr. Cohen the $130,000. Even the show’s host, Sean Hannity — another Cohen client — appeared stunned.

I particularly liked the summing up paragraph:

Quote:
Either way, and in keeping with the tradition of this White House, telling the truth to the American people seems to have played no role in the calculations.
It shouldn't surprise me anymore, but it actually still does, how many people are prepared not to care a bit that this president lies constantly and consistently about everything.

But he lies a lot less than Crooked Hillary and Black Obama (ok, not sure what nickname he used for President Obama, but this seems to be the gist of the issue.) Those two lied about things like an email server, or trying to reduce health care costs for the nation!

"Rudy doesn't lie as well as Trump."

Ouch, now there's an insult.

When its Trump, what he is saying is alternative facts. And when the media claims it, it's fake news. Then its what about Crooked Hillary??Benghazi!!Email!

Seriously. It's pure partisanship. Republicans see politics as nothing but trialism where if you have a D or anything other than R, you are the Devil incarnate and you are the enemy and never to be trusted. It doesn't matter that Trump lies about everything. They just deflect to unrelated things and Trump blusters on.

In fairness, Rudy Giuliani probably has a hard time uttering a sentence that doesn’t contain a noun, a verb, and 9/11.

I saw a quote from Giuliani this morning, something about how he's focusing on the law, not the facts. Silly me, I thought they had to be considered together, but what do I know.

Guess ol' Rudy doesn't think the facts are on his side:

Quote:
If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts.
If you have the law on your side, pound the law.
If you have neither on your side, pound the table.

I misread that and thought that it was about Rudy being bombed by pigeons.

Never mind the fact that Trump's own wife has posed naked before.

I wager more people believe Stormy than those that believe Guliani, Trump, or Melania.

a) She posed nude, that's different than naked.
b) It was artistic.
c) How dare you slut-shame Melania!
d) Fake News! SAD!

ETA: e) Melania is hot and Stormy Daniels is not so that makes it okay.

Hey, Rudy, Trump himself made (presumably paid) cameo appearances in softcore Playboy videos (at least 2). Although his scenes weren't explicit (for which a viewing public is eternally grateful), he certainly wasn't above running with the adult film crowd.

ETA: This is not to say that association with the adult film industry should automatically be a mark of shame; just pointing out the inherent hypocrisy (which seems to be a de rigeur component of virtually all things Trump.

Throw Tomato First lady's office pushes back against Giuliani on Stormy Daniels comment

First lady Melania Trump’s office is sending a strong and clear message when it comes to Rudy Giuliani: Mrs. Trump speaks for herself, thank you very much.

Giuliani replied, the first lady “believes her husband, and she knows it’s untrue. I don't even think there's a slight suspicion that it's true.

But Thursday, the first lady’s spokesperson forcefully swatted back.

“I don’t believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani,” Stephanie Grisham, communications director for the first lady, told ABC News.
Interesting... of course, ABC is teasing just enough to give it somewhat suggestive undertones, but it seems as if there are only two ways to read that:

• Mrs. Trump is saying "Mr. Giuliani, please don't drag me into your batNFBSK insanity, because I don't trust that this will end well and I'd prefer not to be involved," or

• Mrs. Trump is saying "I never said that I didn't believe it - he made his bed; let him lie in it."

The first is perhaps a bit more charitable, whereas the second implies more domestic turmoil (which is the impression that I think ABC is trying to make to appeal to the more prurient interests of the general public). Either way, it's not exactly a vote of confidence for the president and his counsel.

I understand. Again, there was a moment during the hellish 2016 Election Campaign That Would Never End, where Giuliani, Trump, and Newt Gingrich criticized Hillary for staying married to Bill. Or in other words, Hillary Clinton was judged for her 40-year marriage to Bill by guys who, between the three of them, have had twelve wives. Hillary gets judged more for being cheated on, than the male politicians who do the cheating.
