Icon220 The dumb gals on FOX News

Comment: THE DUMB GALS ON FOX NEWS..........

For the past 10 years FOX News has had higher ratings and the largest
audience numbers (for news and business/political "talk" programs) than
all the other TV and Cable news channels combined, which includes: CNN,
MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS!

Some folks claim that FOX's higher ratings are only because FOX purposely
hires a lot of female "reporters" who do nothing but sit around in short
skirts and merely "read everything off of a teleprompter".

Bottom line: The next time you hear someone criticizing FOX News for
supposedly having a "bunch of dumb gals" as eye candy . . . Check out
their qualifications...let them speak for themselves!

After reading this I realized that these ladies have better qualifications
than the guy who was elected president - twice!

AND I MIGHT ADD, THAT WE NOW KNOW MORE ABOUT THEM AND THEIR BACKGROUNDS THAN WE DO ABOUT THE PRESENT OCCUPANT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!!!

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
Obama entered Harvard Law School in the fall of 1988. He was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year, president of the journal in his second year, and research assistant to the constitutional scholar Laurence Tribe while at Harvard for two years. During his summers, he returned to Chicago, where he worked as an associate at the law firms of Sidley Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter in 1990. After graduating with a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991, he returned to Chicago. Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review gained national media attention and led to a publishing contract and advance for a book about race relations, which evolved into a personal memoir. The manuscript was published in mid-1995 as Dreams from My Father.
Since they like degrees so much.

So, you would agree that Scott Walker is unqualified to be president, right?

They may be educated, but too often they pretend not to be.

Funny, I generally hear that the reason for FAUX News's success comes from their willingness to tell outrageous lies on the air and claim that they're true. I couldn't even name any top female commentators on the channel.

Roll eyes

When writing a puff piece about Faux "News," it's apparently mandatory to slip in a random swipe or two at Barack Obama. I'm surprised they didn't mention "BENGHAZI!!!1!!" as well.

I've known a few people who were very very successful academically, but who were also extremely na´ve and sort of malleable in their opinions. I don't know if that is the case with these women, but the ones I've seen (only a couple of them) had a ditzy sort of on-air personality. So my guess is either the na´ve/malleable combo, or a put-on persona for Fox News.

Not to mention you've gotta wonder how many of the people listed got in on a legacy admission? After all, Bush II got into Yale on a legacy. It's not uncommon for rich people to get into Ivy league schools that way.

Three of them have bachelors' degrees from Harvard, and one has a law degree from Harvard.

Three of them have masters' degrees from Columbia University.

Three of them graduated from the University of California.

One graduated from Brown University and also studied at Leningrad State University.

One graduated from the University of Wisconsin and has a law degree from Georgetown University.

One graduated from Liberty University. She might be the only one who pursued her studies in a Republican Christian environment.

If, as Republicans seem to think, the universities are hotbeds of left-wing indoctrination, how did they produce so many Fox News reporters?

I'm not sure, but it probably has something to do with Benghazi.

Am I the only one who noticed this was a complete non-sequitur? The "gals'" educations don't preclude them from having been hired just to sit around in short skirts and read off a teleprompter in order to drive up ratings. Call me when Fox either (1) hires a woman who's not conventionally attractive, or (2) has a woman doing actual investigative reporting.

Actually, call me when Fox has anyone doing actual investigative reporting.

No, the appeal to authority (that made absolutely no mention of the quality of work that the women actually do) was extremely blatant.

All this nonsense about not knowing Obama's background reminds me of that scene in Futurama where Zap Brannigan says something about traveling through uncharted space and Kiff says "It is not uncharted, you lost the chart!"

His background's not a mystery, you're pretending it is!

One can have a college degree and still not be very smart, as those on the right point out when Obama's education is mentioned.

And the Fox reporters aren't stupid. What they are doing is sticking with the Fox party line, which encourages attacks on Obama or anything deemed "left wing." They say things that are obviously stupid because they are encouraged to do so and I'm sure in many cases they know they're wrong, but say it anyway because it's for the good of the Revolution.

Several years ago Jon Stewart brought up Gretchen Carlson's education background. He accused her of deliberately playing dumb in order to "suggest" things that she knows is not true and as a way to pander to an audience who sees intellect & education as an elitist flaw.

Here is the clip.

Bill Gates also doesn't have a college degree. He's hardly dumb or unqualified to be president. Steve Jobs didn't either. There are nine presidents who didn't go to college; George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren, Zachary Taylor, Millard Fillmore, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, Grover Cleveland, and Harry Truman.

I think we get into sticky territory when we say that you have to have a college degree to become president. We already have issues where you have to be rich to become president - the number being thrown around with our latest president, Obama, is his campaign cost $750 million in the 2008 campaign and close to $1 billion this time last around. This means our presidents are bought and paid for by the wealthy. It also means a lot of people who might be better presidents can't run because they don't have rich backers.

I've certainly never had the feeling that they were dumb. They all seem educated and well spoken. I think the "problem" is that they tend to be attractive and therefore get labelled in some people's minds as "bimbos" as the old stereotype goes. This will be harder for people of the younger generations to truly appreciate but society used to categorize people into single attributes. You could be a large meat head athletic man who works at the docks OR a highly intelligent egghead who can barely carry his paper bag to his pencil pushing job. Some people still have this mindset, though not to the same degree.

Kimberly Guilfoyle, from The Five, sits in what she calls "The Leg Chair". She wears a short skirt and shows a lot of thigh. Most of the female commentators are very pretty, IMO, but that doesn't detract from (or add to) what they say. Most of it is BS.
