Whenever you spend your money in the marketplace, you are helping to
determine the future of the Republic by the beliefs of the politicians
supported partially out of your business. Keep this in mind as you
determine where to spend your funds.

Let's see ... Costco has about 25 million members and, according to this item, donated something less than $250,000 to the Democratic Party. So if you belong to Costco, you're putting about one cent in the hands of Democrats. The future of the republic hangs in that balance!

So what happens if I buy Levis from Walmart? Does it cancel itself out or does it explode like matter meeting anti-matter in Star Trek?

Anyone else ever noticed companies that give $ to both sides in an election? Often they give more to one candidate than the other (like 2:1) but ...

If a company gives to both candidates can it be interpreted in any way other than "buying access" (aka bribery).

Sonic and Hallmark kind of surprise me in that list. I would kind of expect high fashion to go the way of the Democrats and discount stores (a la Wal-Mart, etc.) to go the way of the Republicans, just based on what I know about the companies and such. I can't place why Sonic and Hallmark seem "off" in this list, but they just do.
