Huh. Half of my yard is all weeds, and there probably are 50 chilean creepers in there.

Half your yard is all weeds? Does that equate to all your yard being half weeds, or is the half that is not all weeds half weeds? If the half that isn't all weeds is all grass, can you draw a salamander along the boundary?

I'm pretty sure drawing a salamander counts as animal cruelty, and is horrific and disgusting in any case. Unless it's that sunuvabitch Gary, who deserves everything that's coming to him.

DOWN: the state is going to resurface a part of a highway that I use daily; therefore that section is like driving over the surface of the moon.
UP: when the state is finished, that road will be so smooth!

Down : My landline has died (reasons unknown) and so I can neither receive no send any phone calls.

Up : No calls also means not being boethered by telemarketers and scammers when I don't want to.

Down : Today, one scammer found out my mobile phone number and tried to scam me by SMS, pretending to be my bank.

Up : A simple deleting took care of that problem.

Down: Wayfair delivered the wrong colour dresser
Up: My dad noticed and refused delivery, which simplifies things.
Down: My Grade 3 students seem unable to read and answer a question
Up: Most of my troublesome students are behaving, allowing me to spend more time with the Grade 3s while they learn to follow directions.

DOWN: yesterday afternoon, I tried and failed to get a bag of M&Ms from the vending machine at work.
UP: I just returned from said machine; no one else had selected M&Ms so the bag was still hanging there. I stuck in more money and selected M&Ms. I got two bags.

DOWN: Experienced a catastrophic tire blowout at 65mph last Sunday evening. The tire pressure monitor quickly came on after I heard the "POW" and showed the pressure level descending very quickly. I barely made it to the shoulder before it got to zero. What I thought was an out-of-balance tire I needed to have checked turned out to be a tire with a failing sidewall that faced inside.

UP: Since the tires were factory original, and had 62,000 miles on them, I opted for four new ones. What a difference those, along with an alignment made for the car!

I can't remember the last time I've had a tire blow on me like that.

To the cab driver who thought I was cutting him off: Sorry dude. I didn't have much choice. It was either get to the shoulder quickly as possible, or block a lane of traffic with a lame car.

I would disagree that it was catastrophic, since the car didn't spin wildly out of control, you made it safely to the shoulder, and there was no damage from the pieces of the tire.

Sounds like it was pretty catastrophic from the tire's point of view

Down: I just realized I missed a bet, here; if I'd used the name "Jerry" or "Gerry" instead of "Gary", it would have made extra sense. Boo me.

Sneeze

UP: Finally! A nice sunny, low humidity weekend! Yay! I was able to weed-whack some weeds along a part of fence line and transplant some ornamental grasses that I'd divided.

DOWN: Allergy flair-up; had to call out yesterday; breathing in mono. Psst! Dawn! Don't be so NFBSKing lazy! Use a mask!

Up: I made myself a nice cup of tea.

Down: I'm out of milk and I hate black tea!

Up: One of the few items in my almost-empty fridge (I was away for a few days and need to go shopping tomorrow) is half a lemon that's still usable, so I can have lemon tea instead!

Down: I don't really like lemon tea either.

DOWN: Yesterday was a federal holiday but I still had to go to work.

UP: Easy commute; the agency I work for gives its employees Black Friday off. Employee Appreciation Day.
Pretty good trade off I'd say.

D'oh!

UP: We finally sold the extra car that's been clogging up our driveway for a couple of months.

DOWN: I broke my "iron clad" rule to never hand over the keys to the buyer until I witness him/her transfer the title at the registrar's office.

In this case, the buyer works for my son. DS says don't worry, the guy is reliable.

We'll see if this comes back to bite me later.
