As long as the cat approves, the trip was worth it.

We had 4.75 inches of rain last night; on already wet ground. (And I don't seem to be in the area that got hit worst.)

I'm a significant way up a hill; my fields are soggy, but I'm fine. There's a lot of flooding in the area, though; and while the news isn't clear yet (rescue crews are too busy to report, I think) it sounds like there may be some people who aren't fine at all.

Today at work I got a telemarketing call from a woman with a British accent and her voice was so charming I almost didn't mind the sales pitch.

I've been walking around all day with a dead lizard in my shoe.

Based on the amount of blood and guts, it was alive when I put my shoe on.

I felt something and it shifted when I moved my foot but I thought it was probably a ball of sock lint or shoe fabric or something. When I stood up it flattened out and I didn't feel anything after that so it didn't bother me.

Until I took my shoe off and screamed.

This is worse than the time I found a spider in my bra.

When my alarm clock went off yesterday morning I opened my eyes and discovered that my bedroom light was on which was a bit confusing because I'm quite sure it was off when I went to bed, so I lay there for a bit trying to figure out if one of my housemates had come into my room while I was asleep or something. The light switch wasn't entirely in the 'on' position but sort of halfway between on and off so I'm guessing that I didn't click it all the way when I went to bed and it sloooooowly rocked back to the 'on' position sometime before I woke up.

Cervus, I now have a new standard for if it was a good day or not. If I don't have a dead lizard in my shoe, it was a good day. Thank you!
