Nice picture!

(Why is it a mirror image? I've noticed this in an on-line video or two lately as well. Is it to do with using the front camera on the phone?)

Where's your jaunty silk scarf thrown casually over your shoulder?

Also, nice pose.

Oh and here's a video about the charity I'm supporting as part of all this, it has some footage of my previous Moomba birdman rally attempt.

Moomba birdman rally results: I slammed into the edge of the platform and smashed my ornithopter to bits and we both got flipped forwards so I ended up doing an impromptu somersault inside my craft as we both slammed into the water.

All in all, pretty much my best takeoff ever.

Assuming the audio was synced up correctly, the crowd loved it.

Absolutely superb! I am jealous of your creative abilities but fully supportive of your philanthropic legacy.

Next time you do that, hit me up with a link to the charity and I will support your efforts. I'd love to say I support that charity in the name of Danger Bloke!

Yes, that was great!

What was with the police bit later in the report? Is everywhere so worked up at the moment that you need a quasi-military element as well as the having fun part? Out-of-scope, I know. Sorry.

And your aviators cap was the best one on display, too!

There was GANG VIOLENCE at last year's festival and the media blew it up into a HUGE issue so the police were being really proactive this year. (The gang violence was one gang of kids fighting another gang of kids near to where the festival happens but well after midnight when all the crowds had left)

And it was the only one that gone to go in the water! Some of the other competitors wore store bought aviator's caps but there's a rule that we have to wear bicycle helmets when we jump so they had to take them off when they got up on the platform.

Thanks man! I considered it this year but I'd normally ask an admin for permission first and the admins seem to have gone AWOL ...

Then next year, feel free to PM me.

I am almost giggling with the thought of what Danger Bloke will do.

I shared the news report on my FB with my friends all around the world. I claimed I knew one of the jumpers. I stated something along the lines that you were dangerously jumping off the structure into the river.

One of my Aussie friends responded that the danger lay not with the height of the stand, but what is floating in the river!!!

Given Australia having a reputation for every critter being lethal, is he talking about snakes, crocodiles, insects or pollution?

The Yarra river has a bit of a reputation for being a dirty polluted river but it's honestly not that bad. I have seen some rather large jellyfish floating in that area though ....

Some time ago, Photobucket changed things so that if you want to hot link your pictures to, say this forum, you have to pay a new fee. I refuse to do that, so I no longer use photobucket.
