Also, the gooseneck table lamp in the Snopes logo was not popularized until the 1950's, so it is unlikely that snopes would be using it for a web page written in the 1930's.

Way back in the early days of Cracked.com one of their very earliest videos was "The Internet Party" which had personifications of popular websites mingling at a party. It had some killer bits, with Facebook walking around poking people, and:

From Off Screen: "Hey Lookit at this!"
Website (I can't remember which one) turns and immediately looks away in disgust. "Goddammit 4Chan! That's disgusting!"
4Chan laughs from off screen.

And of course there was a "Snopes" walking around correcting inaccurate facts.
