Icon81 NC deaths can't be buried in SC

Comment: I heard that there is (or was) a law that says, if a person dies
in North Carolina, they cannot be buried in South Carolina

I think you are confused.

The law reads "Survivors of air crashes in North Carolina cannot be buried in South Carolina".

Ponder

If two cars crash on I-95 in North Carolina, near the state line, and the impact causes one car to skid across into South Carolina, where are the survivors buried?

ETA: Dang, beat me to it!

It's because the soil is harder there in SC. If they die in SC they HAVE to be buried in NC. Or GA.

No one can be buried in SC despite all the cemeteries one might see.

South of the Border, of course!
