Facebook This Eclipse Is Making People Crazy!

Science Guy Steve Spangler posted a facebook video rant over some e-mail questions he got about the up-coming eclipse.

(*"Well, I'm registered to see the eclipse!")

I'm less keen than he is on those cardboard glasses he's recommending... generally the advice here was that none of them were a good idea (never mind "certified" or "not certified") and that you should really be using one of the other methods he mentions...

People really do seem to be confused though, don't they?

I'm in Columbia SC, in the direct path of the total eclipse. Hotels that normally go for $75/nt are fetching up to $600/nt. The predicted traffic is just about nuts.

I've decided to avoid the madness (and the possible drunk drivers - lots of eclipse viewing parties out there) by working remotely from home on Monday.

It's Mi. We've had dry (too dry) weather for about 2 - 3 weeks. It is now raining and supposed to be cloudy and raining the rest of the week. Monday "partly cloudy." We will likely not get to see even the partial we're supposed to get here. Oh well.
