Is it just me or does the name Dr. Ignatius Piazza sound more like the name of a villain from a cheesy 80's cartoon?

Comment: If you are familiar with the term "bait and switch" or would like
a perfect example or education of it then buy a coupon from restaurant.com. I did! Not at all as described-not even close. When I called for a refund within 10min after they charged( I paid through paypal) and was instantly offered a $100.00 coupon,it was like the rep had a script! I refused it by stating the last thing I wanted to do was continue doing business with a company whose first transaction was fraudulent! Currently involved in a PayPal dispute after Restaurant.com responded with they do not refund fees!! Paypal has already decided I was delt with fraudulently, however my money has yet to be refunded. STAY AWAY!! |

Comment: I was scammed $418 in 2011 by EPROTECTIONZ, a company stating it
represented Windows and that my computer would crash within the hour if I was unprotected.Later I felt absolutely rediculous and ashamed of myself for falling for this. Starting in Dec. 2012 I have received calls from this company stating it was going out of business and wanted to give my money back. All I had to do was give them control of my computer and my bank routing info and the money would be deposited in my account. I have received at least 8 of these calls (the person has a different name but an Asian Indian/Turkey/Pakistani accent) and I have repeatedly either hung up or request them not to call again. They have called as often as three times in one day. The individual is insistent that the issue is real and that I have a problem with trust and infer strongly that I am stupid. I cannot read my caller ID and I always answer the phone if I am able. They have asked for my home address stating that an individual will come to my home to hand me the check. The last two calls I have hung up as soon as I hear the voice. Please email instructions to me on what to do. |

Comment: Recently my computer was hacked. I was told that I should change
my aol password. By doing this it will keep the hackers from getting into my address book. I found a link on Aol to change my password. When I called the number I was connected to some place in India. They told me that they could change my password and also clean up a lot unneeded programs that run in the back ground. The cost was $269.99 for two years. The company is called Techsquadus Technologies. I would like to know if this is another scam. They have my bank account information, routing number and check account number. Please let me know what I should do as I am on a very limited income and can't afford to be in a bad place. |

Comment: My mom meet a man on singles website. He told her he was from
Germany, living in NC and was working in Philippine's as engineer and was getting paid on a card that he could not cash until he got home to US and needed money to get home. Needs more money because passport expired, could not get pass London, problems with entering there, could not enter US, don't remember the problem. My father died in 2004 and this has been going on since 2011. I know it is a scam but my mother thinks she is going to meet Donald XXXXXXX one day and he will pay her back. She has sent him over $40,000. She sends the money Western Union, Wal-Mart, etc., anywhere she can. Now he is in Africa. Still problems. We, the children, have talked to her about being a scam and she does not believe it. He tells her he loves her and next line in conversation is asking for money. Is there anyway you could send her a message about being scammed? I don't want her to know we sent this message. |

A man named Donald is never ever born in Germany (not to German parents, at last). The named Donald is so strongly associated with the Disney Duck that it would be like naming your child Mickey Mouse.

Comment: This man claims to be an agent traveling in Nigeria, he says he
was arrested for trafficking and the police took his items (money, passport, identification) and he needed money to bail him out for fees and to get a plane ticket. Long story short like an idiot I belie1ved him and sent him the money, everyday it is a new dramatic turn and he needs more money. He'll start slow $200.00 $500.00, $1,000.00. Im so upset that I didnt see the signs in the beginning and now I am out of $3,000.00. There are scam reports all over the Internet about this guy, please whatever u do DO NOT associate yourself with him. Do NOT put yourself in a bad finical situation like i did, just know that the story about him being arrested is false and it could never happen with laws for american travelers , and ecsepcially for him to have a lawyer he would have been back to the U.S. To my knowledge he has been stuck over there pretty much this whole year , not possible ! Just pay attention to ALL signs . And REAEARCH before you send ANYTHING ! |

Comment: My sister has been contacted by a man who uses a fake picture on
his face book (first warning sign). She contacted him through Christian Mingles. He told her lots of wonderful things, love, new house, etc., live in Colorado. He plans to come and meet her. The set it up. When it is time for him to fly to her state, he has a problem. His son needed surgery in a foreign country and now he can't get back, they took his passport all his money is here in the states. He continues to write her Bible verses about love. He continually asks her why she can't help buy him a ticket and it goes on and on. My sister just lost her husband in Sep and is not in the right frame of mind. I need to find out if this is a scam, my gut and brain tell me it is. |

Comment: I have just been approached via email by a man whose friendship I
had accepted a few days before. He claimed to be a widower with a young daughter, and immediately began pressuring me to marry him to bring up 'our' daughter. I repeatedly told him that I had no desire to remarry, and reminded him that it was his daughter not mine at all. Then he wrote to me telling he that he and his daughter had travelled to Africa and that they were on their way to visit me in Australia, he even attached details of an airfare supposedly booked for both he and his daughter. Once again I reminded him that ours was a friendship only, and expressed concern that he was using his daughter in an attempt to force me into marriage. The next email told me not to worry but he and his daughter had been robbed outside the hotel they were staying at and that his daughter had been shot in the leg, and that despite being taken to hospital, doctors were refusing to treat her until he paid a large sum of money (over $1000 USD), that he could not access his own money because of some problem at the bank. I pointed out that he had just bought an airline ticket, so why not cash that in, or contact his consulate. He persisted claiming the consulate was not available and repeating that he couldn't get a refund on his ticket. In the meantime I had checked with the airline which he'd supposedly bought tickets for he and his daughter to find, as I expected, that no such ticket had been issued, and that there was no problem with getting tickets refunded particularly in medical emergency. The man sent me another email supposedly desperate, his daughter was seriously ill and he now needed even more money, I told him I was a pensioner and had no money, he then began using my Faith against me, claiming that I wasn't being a good Christian, that he would pay me back when he reached Australia, begging me to send him my pension and assuring me he would pay me back. I then ended contact with him, after refusing again to send money, telling him that the airline from which he'd purchased his ticket had no problem refunding his money, and that the consulate was able to be reached by the same means he was using to write begging letters to me, ie email. Please let others know of this scam, he was using the name Moris Morgan, claims to be an Italian American (but his story is inconsistent), has been widowed for 8 years and has a 5 year old daughter...hmmmmmmmm. Oh and he's also working as a contractor on oil rigs. |

Comment: I received an e-mail presumably by 'What's Up' informing me that
I had a recorded message. I clicked on 'Play and instead of hearing the message, I get another window asking me whether I want to download it and, if I did, I would have to choose to 'run'. I clicked on 'run' and then I suddenly get a pop-up message which tells me: 'Warning! Infected file detected'. This warning will not disappear until I buy its recommended antivirus which is called: 'Antivirus Security Pro'. What should I do? I CANNOT access my browser, inbox, or any of my websites. |

I read that as "I prayed for a Walmart card and never received it."

Comment: RAINBOW ROSES Hi, I was looking at something online and in the process I ran across a photo of Rainbow Roses! WOW! How pretty! So I thought I would take a peek! Lo and behold! They were selling SEEDS to GROW Rainbow Roses! I thought well, why not! "They" seem to be able to do everything else these days! But upon reading the right up about how to grow them, it seem it was written in another language and then translated using software and it made the translation not make a lot of sense. So I decided to Google the flower and see if there was anything different about how to grow them from other roses. WHICH is where I stumbled across YOUR article about Rainbow Roses! I looked and saw that your article is 4 years old. Well, A LOT can change/happen in our world in 4 years now a days. So, with that in mind, I'm sending you the link to look at. I will tell you that they are being sold on Etsy.com. I have done business with NUMEROUS other sellers on Etsy over the years, and of all the things that I've learned about Etsy, is THEY DON'T PUT UP WITH MUCH OF ANYTHING!!! They are supposedly REALLY strict! So, if this is a "scam" I truly don't see how they are getting away with it. Because folks would be complaining left and right! So,....with all that said, here's the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1846840...FWgF7AodkW8A0A Please feel free to contact me for any reason. You may use my email address or you may call me. Either way, I truly look forward to hearing back from you. Because if this is for real....I'm going to buy some! |

Comment: Hello , to whom it may concern . I'd really appreciate Snopes to
investigate GLOBALLSHARE.COM . I signed on as an affiliate marketer for this new on line social site . all I had to do was log in once a day and recruit new members . in return I'd be given a free share of company stock for doing so . well o started late October early November . did pretty well recruiting and logging in every day . worked hard and long to achieve what I did . Well my account was terminated just 13 days before they were to stop giving out the daily shares . I got no notice ,no warning my account was even in jeopardy . it the globallshares terms of service it sates I can appeal my termination , which I have done so every day since termination . But they do not respond . I believe this is a scam from the get go , that they just do not want to pay . I did work on there behalf did everything I was required to , I should be paid what I have legally earned as services rendered for my time and efforts , terminated or not . but now I cant even get them to respond , reply to there own support . here is what I have earned and believe I am entitled to terminated or not for my services rendered |
