Default "Colors" "Box of Crayons" Glurge

Subject: The truth

JUST A BOX OF CRAYONS

While walking in a toy store
The day before today,
I over heard a Crayon Box
With many things to say.
"I don't like red!" said Yellow.
And Green said, "Nor do I!"
And no one here likes Orange,
But no one knows quite why.
"We are a box of crayons
that really doesn't get along,"
Said Blue to all the others.
"Something here is wrong!"
Well, I bought that box of crayons
And took it home with me
And laid out all the crayons
So the crayons could all see
They watched me as I colored
With Red and Blue and Green
And Black and White and Orange
And every color in between
They watched as Green became the grass
And Blue became the sky.
The Yellow sun was shining bright
On White clouds drifting by.
Colors changing as they touched,
Becoming something new.
They watched me as I colored.
They watched till I was through.
And when I'd finally finished,
I began to walk away.
And as I did the Crayon box
Had something more to say........
"I do like Red! " said the Yellow
And Green said, "So do I !"
And Blue you are terrific!
"So high up in the sky."
"We are a Box of Crayons
Each of us unique,
But when we get together
The picture is complete"

And as I turned away,
The crayons said to me,
We really recommend,
You lay off the LSD.

At least we know who to blame for this one. It appears to be the work of Shane Derolf.

ETA: Animation here if you can stand it.

This used to be a PSA of some kind, with a child reading it and animations of the crayons.

But EddyIzard came very very close to OMANK... thankfully I had just swallowed my coffee.

ETA: I got Stoneage spanked! Them granite paddles are rough...

People actually think this kind of glurgey nauesa inducing stuff gets through to anyone, let alone kids?

Kids of all people aren't going to fall for something because it's "good for them."

Clearly it does, though. If glurge didn't get through to some people, they would hit Delete instead of Forward and we'd stop seeing this stuff.

while the whole thing is rather silly, I think the animation was kind of cute though.

It's also a book.

I thought the book was cute when I read it, but then, I liked the pictures.

WARNING SPECIAL NON PC VERSION

Then I took out the Burnt Sienna
And said "who the NFBSK are you?"
And the little Burnt Sienna
Said the red crayon's a Jew.
And I said, "hey there Burnt Sienna
This is not that kind of rhyme.
And besides, the red is Indian
And not even a little 'hime'.
So the poem took a racist turn
But though the moral may hack off the Aryans
All the colors can live together
Except of course Bulgarians.

I'm assuming "Blue you are terrific" is an editorial note to enable it to scan.

I was just listening to "Jeremy" so now this glurge makes me think of the opening line of that song.
