Icon86 Human hair repels skunks

Comment: A friend has found a skunk living under a concrete slab at his
home. Friends suggested that the skunk would move on if he scattered a
good amount of human hair in and around the hole. Is there any truth to
this?

I'm extremely doubtful that a skunk would have any significant reaction to human hair, but dumping mothballs in the entrance to the burrow ought to drive it away. IIRC that's what my parents did when we had a skunk get under our house, though I was five at the time so I might not be remembering it accurately.

We have a skunk under the loading dock at my work and mothballs haven't worked. I've heard that dryer sheets repel rodents, though we haven't tried it yet (but dryer sheets seem to work in my gas grill when I store it for winter).
