Hello Kitty

Meet the newest member of the family.

His name is Chai. He's a one year old Rag Doll cat. We adopted him because Rag Doll cats are supposed to be good for people with cat allergies. And guess what? It works! I've been, sadly, allergic to most cats since the late nineties. A sad thing for me because I've always had at least one cat around the house before.

Here he is, waiting for one of his favorite things, a good old fashioned tummy rub.

Chai and the grand daughter getting to know each other.

He has a very sweet and gentle disposition, and his fur is silky and soft.

One of the publicity pics from my job. I do skate with the Aurora Bori Ellas. I'm training to be a ref. I think my derby name is going to be Dougie "Style", hence the tux shirt.

So...if I murmur in my sleep tonight, "....Dougie 'Style'...roller skates...", are you going to explain to my kids why DaddyHobbit and MummyHobbit glided into the kitchen last night? Newtons Laws of Physics be damned.

Honestly I haven't thought of Heather Graham in ages until now, just now, and it's all your fault. Spin the top, drongo.

test run of my halloween costume!

unfortunately my bald cap tore, so i'm gonna have to get another one for the next run (i'm dressing up a few times this year). this is not doing much to combat my ever-present urge to shave my head again. i look pretty damn good bald. and with a giant gash in my neck.

Chai is adorable -- I love his smudgy nose. Give him a tum rub from me. I'm glad you get to have a kitty again.

This weekend past was the big weekend for Halloween parties here in town. The plan was for Monica and I to go out with another couple. They would go as Rocky and Bullwinkle. Monica and I were Boris and Natasha. Unfortunately Rocky got sick and Bullwinkle came out with us for an hour but left to take care of his wife. Anyhoo, here we are.

Spying business is very serious.

ding ding! her name is deep throat, but the studio decided that that was going too far and credited her as 'female cenobite'. all the gore, mayhem, and the incredibly vulvic neck wound itself were all perfectly okay, of course.

I didn't know that Nathan Lane had been a Russian spy.

Holy carp! I never noticed. It opens up a whole new avenue for costuming.

That is correct!

Not shown in the photo is the silver fabric on the inside of the vest which I added because every cloud has a silver lining.

Gah! I was thinking, "It must be something to do with the cloud... cloud waiter? Cloud pizza? Er..." Bah.

(eta) But surely if people know where you are, you'll stop being a cloud server and become an ordinary server? You'll have to spend Halloween hiding behind the sofa.

This year my Halloween decoration plans mostly didn't pan out but I did get to put out a jack o lantern for the first time. And what a jack o lantern it was!

I'm pretty sure it was the biggest one in the entire town.

It lit up at night, of course:

My costume this year: FemJenn:

IRL, I almost NEVER wear makeup, haven't donned a pair of high heels in years, don't wear pantyhose, almost never wear jewelry, and carry a backpack instead of a purse. I'm also not often found wearing form-fitting clothes, so this really IS a costume for me, and the work folks loved it!

You know, if you lost the friendly smile and had a sign that said,"WILL LITIGATE FOR GOBS OF CASH" it could be downright frightening.
