This becomes funnier if you pretend they mean the prefix "ur" meaning primitive or original or proto. The idea that my mother became the ur-chef is quite an odd one.

I get the impression that pregnancy is such an individual thing that it's hard to really generalize about what an expectant mom will experience as far as 'side effects' go. I asked my mom once and she said that she didn't get swollen feet, backache, or anything like that. She also told that she was hanging drapes on the day before I was born. That doesn't surprise me in the least, knowing my mom that way I do.
That is one wild picture though!

My mom's biggest complaint about being pregnant was that she couldn't drive because she couldn't reach the pedals when the seat was back far enough to clear her stomach.

Also, she had to have someone else tie her bowling shoes.

In addition to my mother's reaction to the grammar, there is a severe danger that she would get her eyes stuck from all the rolling. Who do you thought taught me my healthy contempt for cheap sentiment?

AND she'd be very unhappy about the illustration. She's definitely not of the "but it's natural and beautiful" school.

Yeah, when you're short, there's nowhere to go but out. People couldn't tell I was pregnant from the back -- one woman literally gasped when I turned and she saw my side view.

So if I was premature or overdue, I don't have to involve myself with this crap? Lucky for some!

I think my mom would prefer I show my love by NOT sending her (or anyone else) junk e-mail. Considering my hatred of text speak and BA in English, she might make a comment on the grammar, too. I could see her response as "Are you drunk?"

And I was premature, so this doesn't really apply to me, just to people born full-term.

My mother's pregnancy with me is practically the only thing she ever hasn't given me a guilt trip over. Make of that what you will...

I was adopted. My mom didn't have to do anything but drive over and pick me up!

What. The. Hell? Why would anyone give their CHILD a guilt-trip over their (the mother's) pregnancy? It's not your child's fault that you had pain during your pregnancy.

Where have you been? ANY mother worthy of the name ALWAYS reminds her child of all the aches, the misery, the nonstop gas and bloating and exhaustion she put up with, all while carrying you, you, her thankless burden; and hee you are, acting as she owes you the sun, moon & stars on top of the Precious Gift Of Life already bestowed upon you, you selfish bastard.

Always wondered at the statement, "I didn't ask to be born!"; now I'm looking for someone who had been asked.

Well she shouldn't have been driving anyway according to that Saudi cleric. Any issues you have--whether personal or professional--can be blamed on your mother's driving.
