Comment: re: USS New York. The 'photo' you identified is NOT a photo of
the San Antonio or any other ship. It's a digitally built photo of 'a ship' that may or may not resemble the New York or the San Antonio. It appears to be a digital image drawn for video games. Come ON...pay attention. Does that in any way look like a real ship? Do you see PEOPLE? Do you see detail? No....it's too clean. Please don't make this appear to be 'real' when it's not. I could be an artists REPRESENTATION of the ship but it is NOT a photo in any way, shape or form. |

Comment: I can't believe who you are letting advertise on your site! I'm
in shock. People dying for our country and you have a Obama for America advertisment! You should be ashamed of yourselves allowing such advertisements. I for one will not visit your site again. I'm appalled. ------------------------ Comment: I apologize for my last email about your advertising practices. I miss reread the banner. I thought it said Osama, not Obama. I was not thinking clearly, and do apologize. I would hope that no one would advertise osama for america, that would have been appalling. Obama's name is just too close I guess. Again, I do apologize. |

Comment: Who the hell made you the end all be all for truth? I would be
ten times more likely to believe Lee Marvin if he said he got shot on Iwo Jima, than you dorks, while he was securing our freedom, you were probably laying on your fat butts hiding in some college. I don't believe anything you say, so go to hell |

Comment: Hi,
I'm not a sports fan at all but I live in the Chicagoland area and I should tell you that the end of your article "Bearly Civil" has a mistake. At the end you say that the Saints lost to the Bears. It was the other way around. That means despite the nasty signs the Bears fans were holding up, they got theirs when the Saints won the game. If someone else has pointed this out, please disregard this message. |

I seem to remember the Bears beating the Saints in the NFC Championship Game, but losing the Super Bowl to the Colts.
I know I didn't imagine that as I still seem to not be married to Peyton Manning. |

Comment: Every day I get 15 to 20 forwarded emails claiming some type of
extraordinary event or statement. Every time, I check it's legitimacy through your site. I then respond "all", linking your site, showing the conclusion. (Most often false) I know that my small part of not forwarding these emails and trying to stop the people who do isn't going to change the world. I also know several people who now do the same thing I do and I'm sure that there are many, many others. I have been so impressed with your diligent research on so many items. I am thrilled that you have taken the initiative to take these urban legends to task and publish the results. And up until now, I haven't questioned your motives or your integrity. My issue is your backhanded stab at Paul Harvey in the Working Stiff story. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/gruesome/fivedays.asp I am not familiar enough with Paul Harvey to know what he says or doesn't say. I don't know if he has a particular political slant or if he simply makes things up. The issue is not whether you like or agree with any particular person but what your comments do to your credibility. Publishing your personal opinion by demeaning someone else only reduces how thinking people feel about your reliability. I have blindly accepted the validity of every article you have written. Maybe I have been lucky and never stumbled upon this type of comment before. Possibly this is a one time occurrence. It's not important enough for me to do a search for Paul Harvey or start scouring your site for other remarks of this type. However, if I personally do anything to tarnish my trustworthiness, I hope someone takes the time to mention it to me. |

Comment: In the article entitled, "Bearly Civil", you note at the end that
the outcome of this year's Super Bowl had the Saints trumping the Bears 39-14. Um, yeah...check that one again, will ya? |

Some people seem to lack reading comprehension skills. Or else can't tell the difference between the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl.
As for the Paul Harvey comment, I had to read the whole page a few times to even find it. And then it took me a bit to try to figure out what the complaint was about. All the person had to do was use that neat little seach feature and find out about Paul Harvey. It's not that difficult. |
