Well, I tried to see if I can get another picture of Roxy-kitty. Haven't had much luck getting her to stay still long enough for me to get a good picture. She has grown from being a little wide-eyed ball of fluff to being a spirited wild kitty. She's figured out that Boomer-dog hasn't any aggression in him at all. As for our other calico, Minnie, she has grudgingly accepted her as part of the pack, wrestling and playing with her, though she's still all "Damn kid..." at times.

What a pretty Roxy!

-- that glint in her eye looks like an indication that patting that lovely belly might be risky, though.

Our new addition: https://imgur.com/a/dOMYd

Her name is still pending. Possibly Gracie or Georgie. She's super sweet, respectful/kinda scared of the cat, and surprisingly pretty well trained for a dog that was picked up as a stray.

Whales? Not after anything. I hadn't noticed that those two names were both halves of the comedy pair. We're trying out Gracie today after using Georgie for a few days. I think we need to make up our minds soon if we don't want her to be hopelessly confused.

Seriously. We are discovering that she is a really special dog. We looked for a long time to find a good fit for us, and we had a high standard set by our last dog, Iris.

She's only about 40 lbs, but leggy for her size. (And a little under weight.). The shelter we got her from took those last 2 pics, and they use the chair for even bigger dogs. I'm guessing it may be a technique they've figured out to get dogs to sit still for a minute for pictures.

We're signed up for a training class for January, but she has already picked up sit, down, shake, and high five. She will go where you point, and stays away from the table while we're eating. I'm not sure if she has already been trained by previous owners, or if she is just very smart and intuitive. Or both.

Cody: I can't believe my human is making me wear this bandana. Oh, well. I guess this means smallpotatoes loves me.

Rocky: You're dead.

Thanks. It's been a long time since I watched that one, and the reference, obviously, escaped me.

Due to various reasons, I have never had a cat or a dog and wouldn't know what to do with them.

G/G's eyes have me under a spell. If I were in the same room as her, I'm not sure if I could resist.

Those are all so cute I'm going to try mine again. Rocky is one face stripe away from looking just like my sister's cat, the Rum Tum Tugger.

So, if this works, we have baby Groot,

BB-8 with R2-D2's stolen ball,

and R2-D2 with his ball back.

Well, they turned out small in the end, but they were huge at first, so I'm just going with this.

I swear Cody loves wearing bandanas! He gets so excited when my dh puts a new one on him. 1st thing he does is run to show me which one he's wearing & he prances around looking all proud of himself!

Hello Kitty

KITTY JAIL!!

This is the stray cat that has been hanging around for months and which decided weeks ago that my back yard perfectly suited its needs so it decided to move in. It's been hanging around my house pretty much 24/7 ever since which was apparently really good news as far as my rat problem was concerned (I used to see the rats scampering around in the trees in my backyard every single night but I haven't seen a single one for weeks now) but my cat was very nonplussed about the interloper and I noticed that it was also trying to stalk the birds that visit my yard. It was also sneaking into the house every chance it got and eating my cat's food.

I eventually befriended it to the point where it would come and roll around purring at my feet and I finally got it into a car carrier today and immediately took it to the local vets. They scanned it and found that it had an ID chip so they'll be able to get it back to its owner. Everybody came out a winner!

When I was chatting to the vets they told me about a recent case where someone brought in a stray cat and they discovered that it had been reported lost 14 years ago and they managed to find the original owner who came and collected it.

Aww. He does look like he's hanging out in jail. Great job on getting him back to his original family.

I just hope the original family actually wants him.

Here's hoping for a reunion between/among mutually overjoyed parties.
