Dog It's Thursday again!

Comment: My dog barks only at the sound of the UPS truck and not the FedEx
truck. Is it true that the UPS company put a special muffler that makes
dogs bark at it in order to warn the homeowners that a package is coming?

Were it so, would not every dog on the delivery route bark even if the delivery person was just driving through? It would get a bit irritating after a while.

Our dog used to only bark at the FedEx truck and not the UPS. Of course, it turns out our neighbor worked for UPS and was the driver, so our dog knew the driver of the UPS truck.....

Comment: A friend and I have argued over whether the government ( fed or
state) has outlawed the use of phonics in schools. He swears it is true
and I (a retired teacher) think he is totally wrong. He has heard this
from some ultra conservative speakers. Could you research this and get us
an answer.

Comment: I have heard that the reason there are gaps between the floor and the
stall doors of public restrooms is to allow the police to break up
demonstrations if they are occuring in a building by throwing tear gas
into the stalls through the gaps. I heard that before the 1960's there
were no gaps. Is this true?

Comment: During 1970, while I was in Viet Nam with the 101st ABN Div, I
was told that Lady Bird Johnson was the largest single private stockholder
in Interarms Corp out of Alexandria, VA and that this corporation ship
military arms through various shell corporations to North Viet Nam in
support of their war effort while we were losing men and materials to the
NVA. Is this story true?

OK, I'll bite - what kind of demonstrations happen in public restroom stalls (or at least ones where the police would be chucking teargas)?

Further, if bathroom stalls are built with anti-demonstrator purposes in mind, wouldn't it make more sense for the door to go right down to the ground so that the police could then throw the teargas cannisters over the top of the stall without worrying that the cannister would roll or be kicked back out?

Hey, WTF am I doing? I'm arguing with someone who believes that bathroom stalls are designed to stop demonstrations?

Oh how the mighty have fallen

My dog only barks at the UPS truck and not the FedEx truck because the UPS guy brings cookies. If he's anywhere on the street, all the dogs in the neighborhood start barking. And my dog doesn't even like cookies, she just wants something to hide.

Obviously, you haven't been keeping up with the news these days. Archaeologists at the University of Tuktoyaktuk recently discovered the frozen bodies of cavemen in a glacier in the Canadian high arctic. They theorize that the cavemen had been caught up by a sudden advance in the glacial sheet about 15,000 years ago. Using the latest in nuclear and nano-technologies, they were able to remove the bodies from the ice and restore them back to life. They then spent several months conditioning them to our modern world and its wonders, and teaching them to speak English with an American mid-western accent.

Unfortunately, the archaeologists' hopes about learning more about life 15,000 years ago were cruelly dashed when the cavemen escaped, went to New York, joined an advertising agency, and began to sell car insurance.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding about the Geico cavemen. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I also fail to believe that public restrooms are really the powerhouse behind demonstrations. Surely all hiding in the toilet is a pretty ineffective way of getting your message across.

Alternatively, maybe when all demonstrations are scattered by the police, all the demonstrators hide in the nearest WC. If this is the care, surely the police have achieved their goal and there is no need to tear gas the people out of there, back on to the street, where the demonstration was originally taking place.

That's for dang sure. My kids now fight over the book and have "coded" messages between them as they read it. Sometimes they cry.

Comment: There were some letters i saw myself that were sent to friends
during the 1st and 2nd Clinton Campaign, intimating that if they voted for
clinton, they would be made citizens-they were extremely excited, as this
was only 1 yr into the process and would accelerate thier citizenship
greatly-i told them don't believe it until you actually recieve Legal
Paperwork to prove it-and they of course did Not. Nor did they register as
Democrats, as the letter suggested, being non-citizens, they couldn't have
voted anyway.
Has this rumor popped up anywhere else, and why, after only 2 days in the
news, was this discontinued?
In Addition, How Many Witnesses who could have testified Against Hillary
Clinton, Some Under Age 30, had "Sudden, Fatal" heart attacks with No
Prior History of Heart Disease during the Whitewater Investigation? That
Question Was Never Answered as well-although i Do remember Over 20 People
Dying-All that would have testified Against Hillary Clinton-Strangely
enough, i have questions in my mind over this-can you answer these
questions?
