Well, that's what she told me six months ago. It's never happened, which makes sense in context, since I was informed a couple days ago that I'm on 60-day notice (of layoff) as of 11/1.

I'm fine, thanks to a good support system. Staying positive so far, although I'm sure I'll have my moments.

Aw, thank you! It's nicer to be missed. I accidentally signed out, and the reset password function wasn't working.

Did it finally work, or did you just find your old password?

ETA: never mind, I see you've explained elsewhere.

Hi, Lainie, good to see you back!

A new commercial I like is from the "Hannoversche" insurance company, which takes it's name from the city of Hannover.

It's here: https://youtu.be/fO79WJrxIkk

It shows a mother putting her daughter to bed, then calling her dad on the phone while the daughter is still sitting on her bed watching a comfort lamp. She ask's "How was your day?", than puts the phone down. The dad, obviously speaking from his office, immediatly starts on how this client picked another insurance rate, and how that was sensible, because he'll get a better premium, and ... Seconds later, the daughter drops off and falls over backwards on her bed. It end with a voiceover saying "Hannover. We may not have the most exiting stories, but we have the best insurance."

Full disclaimer: my wife is in the insurance business (although not with "Hannoversche").

Can't remember the product--some hot sauce--but "the queen" is asking the hostess what makes her cucumber sandwiches so good. The host replies This Hot Sauce--I put that NFBSK on everything! You see a red splotch over the hostess' mouth, so no children will be offended.
Cracks me up every time, especially when the old guy standing next to "her majesty" loses his monocle.

I haven't seen the commercial, DS, but that line is for Frank's Red Hot sauce.
I found it here. Now that I've watched it, it's pretty good.

Default I'm Not Eating That

Just saw this commercial on the weekend.

Made me think of breakfast one day at SIL's. Nephew crying his heart out because the 'bacon was curly'.

Jack In the Box's new commercial about getting through "uncomfortable situations, like flying, the dentist, and guys named Ronald" gets a chuckle out of me.

Dog

Love the Wells Fargo Bank ad with the beautiful husky telling all the dogs out there to tell their humans to check out WF's mortgage loans. Man what a gorgeous dog!

It irks me when an entity I really dislike comes out with a good ad. When that happens, I give credit to their ad agency. So hats off to Publicis Groupe-led Department W, for their clever ad using Gary Numan's "Cars" and featuring famous movie/TV vehicles picking up groceries at a well-known international retail mega-establishment.
