Comment: Regarding Fan Death

I lived in Seoul from 1984 - 1986. While I don't remember stories about
'fan death' at that time, it was very common to read stories in the winter
about people asphyxiating themselves from burning charcoal in closed rooms
to keep warm. While homes are not airtight, a room that has been
wallpapered on all four walls, and the ceiling, has a paper covered floor,
double insulated windows and a tight fitting door will not leak enough
oxygen to feed both the flame and the people sleeping in the room. This
combined with carbon monoxide

Oh cool! One of those "you write your own adventure" stories.

This combined with carbon monoxide to crate a horrifying creature known as Carboxide. The creature roamed the countryside setting fire to houses and eating flaming rats as they fled the house fires. The few rats that escaped started more fires until...

Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Mikkelson:

A relative sent this to us and it made us so insanely jealous that
we are sending it to you in the hope that it proves to be totally bogus.

If it is true we intend to invent a time machine and go back and
join the company instead of languishing away in our retirement years.

Our best to both of you for the great job you do of keeping stuff
on Internet on the up and up.

But if this turns out to be true, I must drop Snopes down to
number two on my list of places I am going to work in my next life.

From your number one fan in San Antonio, maybe Texas, maybe North
America.

P. S. I tried sending the pictures to you, but for reasons unknown to me,
that e-mail bounced back. I hope this goes through without the pictures.
Those pictures would make almost any average "wage slave" jealous to the
point of rash action or something.

Vanishing

Comment: One night in the 80s when my parents were driving late at night
from a vacation to Martha's Vineyard, on the side of a rocky road they
heard very strange music playing and they saw a table with a candle on it
with two old and ghostly figures by it. And when they drove back, the
music, table and candle were still there, but the old and ghostly figures
weren't.

It was my grandparents playing Canasta. They had an old Victrola they liked to listen to, but the thing was worn out so the music never sounded quite right. As for their appearance they were old, pale and very thin which is why they played at night so they could avoid the sun (they burned easily).

Most likely they were off in the bushes going at when your parents drove back by (they didn't have much money so they played for 'funsies').
